Chapter 14

Tokyo downtown and the missing fiancée

Dazai was out of emergency service in the pharmacy this weekend and Chuuya stayed with him, around noon the red-haired went home to pick up a few things. He decided to spend the next few days with Dazai. Chuuya didn't exactly know why he would rather stay with Dazai, but one thing was certain: he had to be clear about some things.

His parents would come back next Friday, and he couldn't avoid further talking to his father.

Chuuya felt comfortable in the presence of Dazai, it was like that when they were younger.

When he got home, he changed clothes. Black skinny jeans and a burgundy long-sleeved shirt, which was closed with buttons in the front of the neckline.

Chuuya liked details. He loved it when Dazai dressed fine, despite the bandages, he just always looked incredibly good, especially in dress shirts.

For a moment he sat in his kitchen and reread the letter from Studio Bones. The chance to overcome all hurdles here and to successfully choose this position was limited. He put the letter in his pocket and went to his bedroom to pack some things he needed for the week.

As he packed, he thought of his father, who made no secret of the fact that he wished Chuuya would join his company's board of directors and run the business. The red-haired man was glad that his mother had always supported him, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten that far.

Nevertheless, Chuuya knew that this conversation would be very uncomfortable and if he succeeded in Japan, another question was much more important to him:

What would become of him and Osamu? How far would he go to be with him?

Dazai had the pharmacy here, he had employees for whom he was responsible, his family was here. He was Japanese, but nothing really connected him to Japan, except an ex-boyfriend who had also left him for a life there.

Chuuya shook his head and tried to forget these thoughts for the time being, nothing was certain yet, if he did not get the job, he would return and possibly even work for his father in the company. The redhead already knew that his father would set this ultimatum. An attempt and if not successful, no more financial support from him. His father's door was wide open to his company, it was his way of getting him into the Nakahara seed company. Sure it wasn't the worst job, but nothing that Chuuya cared about.

He could of course try to get a job here in Germany, but that was rather difficult and unlikely, this branch was not represented here, and he could only do like advertising design.

On the other hand, he could stay with Dazai, but in these professions one was so underpaid that he couldn't afford a bigger apartment. Actually, that was not a real option, he would then bite the bullet and work for his father.

When he had stowed everything away, he drove back to Dazai's apartment.

When he arrived at the top of the penthouse apartment with his travel bag over his shoulder, Dazai was standing on the huge roof terrace that surrounded the apartment and was on the phone. Chuuya couldn't hear what it was about or who was on the phone, but the way Dazai smiled and nodded on the phone, it seemed important and above all something positive.

Chuuya put the bag down in Dazai's bedroom and went back into the living room, he briefly considered going outside onto the terrace, but he didn't want to disturb Dazai.

He decided to make tea and, tiptoeing, up in the cupboards in Dazai's kitchen, looked for the compartment in which he kept the tea. Chuuya didn't get far, Dazai was already behind him.
