(Pic is Finn)
My knee was on fire, but I was too tired to even call out in pain. I lay there, on the hard wood floor, in a heap of blankets. Despite the intense pain spread across my body, I felt myself starting to fall back asleep.
This isn't the first time I had fallen down the stairs in the morning. I had a habit of carrying my comforter around the house until it was time to get dressed; it kept me warm. Unfortunately, there were times where my feet would get caught in the comforter and I would find myself falling- sometimes down the stairs.
My dad highly disapproved of this habit. He said I was going to break a bone, and it felt like I had. He stood over my sleeping body with his hands on his hips. After realizing I wasn't awake, he nudged me with the sole of his expensive dress shoes.
"Get up" he said. "Eventually you're gonna break your arm, or even worse, my stairs." He grinned at his own sense of humor. I let out a fake laugh and dragged myself to the kitchen to get some cereal. By the time I would finish eating, my father would be gone. He was the CEO for some pen company, so he was often gone, but it's whatever. I got unlimited pens. I never got to finish my cereal though, because I fell back asleep on the table.

I had already received a couple judgemental looks from strangers. My hair was a disheveled mess and I had tremendous bags under my eyes. I'm just lucky I got to school, my brother had woken me up just in time to put some clothes on. Nash drove us today. Him and my brother take turns driving to school (This is Hayes and I's first year of high school, so it was our first time riding with Nash and Finn) Hayes and I didn't talk. There was no way I was about to hold a conversation with a cute guy when I could barely sustain my own consciousness.
Now- I've barely made it to biology- my first period. The teacher was a gaunt-looking lady with a horrible glare. I smiled and took my seat. I have no idea why she's glaring, I mean- I'm barely late. "I hope you're paying attention to your seats class. These will be your seats for the remainder of your time here unless I deem otherwise".
Wow, this lady seemed about done with our class and it hasn't even been 5 minutes. I decided to not pay attention- I would probably pass this class anyways. I started to day dream, but I was interrupted by a paper ball hitting me in the back of the head. What the.. I turned around to see the offender. The person that met my eyes made me smile. Aaron carpenter grinned back at me, and gave me a thumbs up. I allowed myself a chuckle. Aaron has been my best friend for since I could remember. How did I not notice him sitting in the back?
"Young man!" The haggard old lady yelled. I spun around to meet her gaze.
"Do you mind telling us why you are not paying attention to the board?"
"Uhm.. I'm sorry mam " I started
"That is Mrs. Kruger to you young man."
"Fitting.." I muttered
"I beg your pardon?"
"Uh- nothing I was just saying sorry." I stammered.
"What is your name, child?" She demanded. This was definitely not the way I wanted to start off the year.
"It's oliver...mam." I added the mam with the most charming smile I could muster. She scowled at my smile, and told me to pay attention. I turned around one last time to flip Aaron off before zoning out again.

Authors note- For my story Aaron is a freshman ^o^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The bell for lunch could not have been more highly anticipated. Aaron popped up at my side and punched me in the arm.
"Sup bad ass. Nice job telling the teacher off!" Aaron always had a sense of humor.
"Shut up man now that teacher hates me. What if she fails me cuz you got me in trouble."
"Relax dude, after the first test she'll love you so much she might even try to suck your dick!"
"Unlike you, Aaron, I don't look for oral sex from women 7 decades ahead of me."
"Aww you're just jealous you can't get any!" Aaron smirked and punched me again.
"Well you got me. So I'm afraid if you punch me again I'm gonna punch you back." I put on a fake serious face. We both laughed, but before Aaron could come up with something witty to say Hayes joined us in our expedition towards the cafeteria.
"Hey Aaron, Oli." He flashed his almighty smile at us. I greeted him softly and then focused on finding the elusive lunch room.
I sat with Finn, Nash, Aaron, Hayes, and Taylor (Caniff). I let them do most of the talking- I was focused on not appearing too ill. I recently had gotten a stomach ache and was starting to sweat. I tried focusing on my sandwich, but to no avail. A voice brought me out of my daze.
"What?" They were all looking at me.
"You ok buddy?" My brother patted my back.
"Yea I'm good.. I'm just tired." I lied.
"You sure man? You look like shit." Hayes interrupted my line of vision with his own eyes. He had a genuine look of concern on his face. I couldn't look at him for more than a few seconds.
"Gee, it's great to know what you actually think about me Hayes." I tried to lighten the atmosphere. It almost worked- until I threw up all over Hayes' vans.
First chapter is up :D let me know what you think!
