"Goodnight, Georgie." And soon fell into a deep sleep.
_________
George's POV:
I was woken up by the flash of a light. I opened my eyes to find my whole family standing in front of me. My mum was holding a... camera? I look over at my side and saw y/n with their head on my shoulder. Their eyes were closed which told me they were still asleep. Or so I thought.
"Are you guys together yet?" Ginny asked me sounding impatient.
I opened my mouth to say something but before I could, someone else did.
"Not yet."
It was y/n.
"Do you want me to pose for the camera, or can I just slug it like I always do?"
Fred, Ron, and Ginny all snickered.
"That would be lovely, dear." Mum put the camera up to take another picture.
Y/n put their arm around my shoulder and kissed my cheek as mum took the picture. I could feel my cheeks heat up. Y/n pulled away then messed up my hair and got up from the couch. They reached their hand out towards me and I grabbed it. They pulled me up, then said, "So what's for breakfast?"
Did they really just kiss my cheek? And what do they mean 'not yet'?
Your POV:
I just did that. I really just did that. I kissed George's cheek. Bloody hell. I kissed George. I'm never going to hear the end of it from Fred. I could feel my cheeks turn red while I sat down. I took my usual spot between Fred and George and Ginny and Ron sat in front of us. Molly had made us eggs and toast. I looked up from my plate to Ginny who was smirking at me and George.
"So, how did everyone sleep?" Arthur asked.
I quickly shoved a piece of toast in my mouth so I was not able to answer.
"I slept wonderfully. What about you, darling?" George grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
I thought I should bring out my confidence so I swollowed my toast, squeezed his hand and said, "Amazing, although a few times I woke to someone smacking my face. I wonder who it could have been."
"Yeah I wonder." George put a piece of toast in his mouth and smiled.
I could have sworn I saw him blush. I couldn't help but think.... no, he couldn't. He wouldn't. Would he?
"Earth to y/n/n." George pulled me out of my thoughts.
How long had I been staring at him?
"Did you hear what I asked?"
"Sorry, what?"
"I asked if you wanted to come with us to get Harry and Hermione?"
"Of course I do. When?"
"In a few days." Ginny said trying to join the conversation.
"Sure. I'll look forward to seeing them."
"Great! We're going to have so much fun with Hermione. We're gonna sleep in each others Room's and have girl talk and paint our nails and-" I interrupted Ginny.
"Woah, I think I'll skip the last one. I'll watch you two while I'm waiting for Harry to finally snog you."
Ginny kicked my foot under the table which made Fred and George laugh.
"And I'll be waiting at Hogwarts for you to puck up your courage and snog Angelina." I said pointing at Fred.
"Hey, I asked her to the Yule ball. She's supposed to make the next move." Fred hit my shoulder.
"No, Fred you have to. I bet you 5 sickles that George will get a girlfriend before you snog Angelina." I said
"I'll get in on that bet." Ron sat up
"Me too." Ginny smirked
"As will I."
"Molly Weasley betting on her own sons. I always knew you'd come around. What about you Arthur?"
"Well I guess I'll put some in to the bet."
"Hey! Dad come on." Fred looked at Arthur hopefully.
"Sorry son. I think George is just I little closer than you are."
"Closer to what?" A voice said from the stairs.
Percy. Me and Percy don't like each other very well. Let's just say it was a prank that went a little too right back when me and the twins were in our 2 year at Hogwarts.
"We're betting that George will get a girlfriend before Fred snogs Angelina." Ginny told him
"I'm in. George has definitely got a head start." Percy sat down by Arthur.
"What's that supposed to mean? I don't have a head start. No one even likes me." George asked
"George, more than half the people at school like you. I'm surprised you've never been in a relationship." I took a bite of my eggs.
"Well, you've never had a partner either." George squeezed my hand.
"And I have a few reasons for that. Number one, you guys would torcher the poor kid. Number two, I don't need someone to tell me I'm beautiful or hold my hand or..... kiss me or walk me to my classes or... snuggle with, laugh at my jokes that aren't even funny or-"
"You've sure thought about this a lot, y/n." George rubbed the top of my hand with his thumb.
"Anyway, almost everyone at Hogwarts aren't even my type." I said now getting to a whisper. "Except for one of the professors."
"Ew!" Fred said.
"What? Like you've never had a kink for an older person."
"I have." George let go of my hand and tried to fix his hair from when I messed it up this morning.
I grabbed his hand again and he looked at me surprised and confused.
"Who?" I messed up his hair with my free hand.
"You'll laugh."
"Probably. Now who?"
"Professor Trelawney."
"She's even worse than mine. And I have quite a few."
"Well, who's yours then, y/n/n?" Ron asked.
"Let's see, Professor Snape, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Remus Lupin, Flitwick,-" I listed off with my fingers.
"So that's why you took choir." Ginny said.
"What are you guys taking about?" Charlie asked coming down the stairs.
"Y/n fancies a couple of the professors at Hogwarts." Percy says simply.
"George does too. Professor Trelawney is his." I told Charlie as he sat across from George.
"Professor Trelawney, ay? Wow, how old is she?"
"She's only 35. Y/n's are worse." George stated.
"And what professors do y/n fancy?"
"Snape, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Remus, and Flitwick." I repeated.
"Aren't we going to see Remus when we pick up Harry, dad?" Charlie asked smirking at me.
"You are right. Maybe y/n would like me to tell him she said hi."
"No, I'll just stick with the people at school who are more my age." I said quickly.
"But I thought your type was more older." George said squeezing my hand.
"Not anymore."
"Then what is your type?" George whispered in my ear.
I guess it's now or never to be bold. I don't think I'll ever get this good of an opportunity to mess with him.
I leaned over, close to his ear and whispered, "I'm more into gingers." and I got up and put my plate away in the sink. I walked back over and just before I went up the stairs, I ruffled George's hair one last time, and walked upstairs to go unpack.
