Teenage mind

THE FRIEND GROUP OF FIVE STARED AT THE school with two feelings on their minds; They were either extremely depressed or very indifferent about starting a new school year. Their last school year to be exact, a time that was supposed to be really happy.

"Here we are, senior year." Caroline said with absolutely no enthusiasm in her voice.

"I already hate it." Ivy whined, if she was honest, she would rather be sleeping in bed at that moment.

"Does anyone else think this should feel slightly more empowering?" Bonnie asked as she placed a hand on her hip.

Evan nodded her head. "My mistake for thinking senior year would be the best year of my life. I guess I have to wait until next time I attend high school." she shrugged her shoulders at that, letting out a sigh.

"Okay, so senior prank night was a bust but, we are accepting it and we are moving on." Caroline said to the girls, trying to encourage herself to get into better spirits.

"So I can't be in bed eating ice cream after being dumped?" Ivy asked, she had been with the same guy on and off since middle school and out of nowhere he just kinda broke up with her.

After everything they had been through, Matt Donovan decided they shouldn't be together. For about the twentieth time. It did cause the slightest bit of tension between Ivy and Elena, because the blonde had an idea of why he was doing this.

"Nope." Caroline shook her head and the five of them started to approach the building.

"You're right. I mean, why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriend hinder this experience?" Bonnie shrugged her shoulders, trying to let the weight of the situation roll off of her.

"Or the fact that my ex came back and basically tortured us all." Evan added, she was feeling way more emotions than that but, if she put it into words they would be there for hours.

"Yes, and why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a hybrid put a damper on an otherwise fabulous day." Caroline spread her arms out dramatically, all of them throwing one huge pity party for themselves.Evangeline knew that all of her friends were suffering at the moment but, she decided not to comment on it fearing it would only make things worse.

The girls kept walking but Elena stopped with a depressed look on her face. "Today's our anniversary. Technically, Stefan and I met on the first day of last school year."

Evangeline remembered that day like it was yesterday. She had come to town with Stefan because he was helping her start over and that's when she met her best friend Ivy. They'd been thick as thieves ever since, one whole year.

"Okay, you win." Caroline frowned at the brunette, her lips forming into a slight pout.

If you asked Evan, she totally did not win in fact, it was probably the smallest problem they were all going through but, she loved Elena and didn't want to hurt her feelings.
