The Darker story

That day... definitely felt like a darker chapter of my life to say the least. But despite what happened, I can't say his death is what affected me so much. And when I stood trial, I was found innocent, since he challenged me, and ot wasn't my fault he fell in front of the train. More like... the things I discovered. All this time I wondered what he had against me. But now I realize, thanks to his reaction at my non-cooperation. He was scared of me all this time. That was just his way of hiding his fear. As for the question why I scared him so much, it was because apparently he knew about the story of the mountain, and my connection to it. From where however, I might never know. Not all things have an answer. However, this experience helped me realize a few things. Mostly just how terrible is the truth.

"You think he's alright? He hasn't talked much to us. Or anyone...."

"To be fair, he went through a lot. Can't say I'd feel very talkative in his place."

"Well yes... But maybe we should try and talk to him about it. Talking about your problems always helps."

"Frisk please. We should give him some space." Jamie requested.

"Well maybe he's just waiting for someone to ask him! You know (Y/n) isn't the kind to ask for attention!"

"You know what? If you wanna give it a shot so much, then go on."

And so, while the boy left to go home, the girl approached her friend wearing a determined expression.

"Hi (Y/n)! Hey, so I noticed how you've been a little distant of us. I want you to know that if you feel like there's something you want to talk about, feel free to ask me."

..............

"(Y/n) look. I'm worried for you. I know you're going through a lot. With your Mother passed recently, Anji comatose, and now witnessing something like... death. But-"

"Sorry Frisk. I just... needed a lot of time to think." (Y/n) spoke, his voice a little shaky. And his eyes, having bags under them looking down.

"Think... about what? Remember, your friend is here to listen to you." Reassured Frisk, her smile brimming with determination.

"....You really wanna know?"

"....I do."

"Then come to my house. I'll be better if you see for yourself."

[....]

"Here we are." Said (Y/n), looking around.

Right now, the two were in the attic of his house, looking around the dusty old place.

"What are we looking for here?" Asked Frisk, a little scared of the darkness the room.

(Y/n) pulled closer what looked to be an old chest covered in dust. The wooden object had an opened rusty lock on it, and a key in it.

"My mom said I should never open this thing. Yesterday I was looking for some books, so I could bring Anji some, but instead I found this... th- this thing." When he opened the chest, (Y/n)'s hand was shaking, pulling out an old book.

"That.... it is a book." Frisk spoke, looking dumbfounded at what her friend was holding.

Not wasting a moment, (Y/n) opened it, and gave it to her.

Things have been very problematic of a while now. Every day more and more monsters and humans end up in conflicts, some of them ending in violence. I wrote this diary as a note, and somewhere where I can put my thoughts.

My name is Erick Kenway (L/n).

"That was my grand-grandfather's." (Y/n) spoke, watching Frisk read.
