The air in the gymnasium was grim and heavy, the soft sounds of students crying could be heard throughout the entire room as the headmaster spoke. Once again, another student had died. Parents demanding to know how the school would protect the students, or why they had not called upon their neighboring countries for help. There was practically no way the safety and lives of everyone could be guaranteed without the efforts of outside help; this was just a school for learning fancy and glittering tricks. No one had any powers.

It would be simple for the school to call upon the kingdom in the Valley of the Winds, to the far north in the mountains, their princess, a demon of ice, wind and illusion could've aided them with soldiers. Carros, a kingdom just below the same mountains of the demon kingdom, their princess would've sent her strongest mages, even offering herself to their aid.

Then there was Mechania city, on another continent, yet their guardians could've easily made the trip, they used aura and spirit together to create their magical abilities to fight back. Not far off from east there was a place where it was governed by an academy, the student council were the ones who made the rules and laws. Each student having their own magical abilities and trained in either a school for pure combat, or one of studies for those without magical abilities. The students would've offered their best to their aid.

Of course the school had never reached out, purely because of the new heroes who appeared at nights, and the occasional day. All across the entire city and country whispers spoke of them, yet one detail stood out the most; they were merely children. Not children in the sense of toddlers, but in the sense of only being teenagers who, on several accounts, had lost to the enemy; which had cost them the lives of several. No one knew who they were, and none bothered to ask. But many, demanded competent heroes with experience.

Her eyes glittering in rage, but her face remained stoic, hands balled into fists as she had her arms crossed over her chest. It was taking her self control to not cause a scene, to not storm out, or even reveal who she was in front of everyone. Nothing more than to shut them all up and let her do her job, force them to understand that not every life could be saved from the enemies.

'They've no idea what they're talking about. Life isn't all fairytales and bright colors damnit.'

Lifting her head slightly, the young adult grit their teeth as the scene before then continued. Tears falling, the closest friends of the fallen student taking it the hardest. Even while watching and listening to the speech, the guild and hatred to herself only grew.

If only she had been quicker. Created the card a moment sooner, called upon her familiar, Alu, the minute she got caught in a trap. Her partner, the student who this ceremony was for, wouldn't have lost their spirit; that life would be here right now. The blame was her own, yet she couldn't tell anyone what happened. She hasn't even found the other magicians, other than the one who died last night. But she had found them months ago.

Dragging her attention up to the front once more she narrowed her eyes ever so slightly as the parents spoke once again. There it was, that look in their eyes, then the words left their lips; 'These damned heroes let our child die. Summon for true ones and outlaw these failures once and for all!'

That was it. She had it. Taking the chance to move, but was stopped by her familiar who stood before, unseen by others, shaking his head and motioned for her to leave the building. Anger rising in her, yet she obeyed. Once outside she looked to her familiar and immediately opened a doorway with a card that lead to a another dimension.

"I'm done playing these games. Pick up my training. Harder and more rigorous than it already is. I'm not getting their blame any longer Alu."

Turning in her heel, two entered the doorway, just as quickly as it appeared, it vanished.

The young magician was done playing around. She was ready to give up everything of herself to protect the many.

It was time to really fight back.

Even if it meant taking a life.
