Madison
Sounds wake me up and for a moment I'm scared that somebody broke into my house.
It is real, he is here. I didn't dream it.
Smell of food makes my stomach growl.
I get out of the bed and pick up the sheet from the floor and wrap it around my naked body.
Scent of him envelops me.
I tentatively go into the living area.
His back is turned to me as he cooks something.
Leaning on the wall I look at the gorgeous man standing in my kitchen. He has only his jeans on and this view is breathtaking. Liam is tall, like really tall with strong muscular shoulders and arms. A Sculpted torso descends into a slim waist.
He turns around holding two plates and I laugh. He has one of my aprons on.
"We need to work on your definition of a naked chef," I tell him approaching the kitchen island.
He cocks an eyebrow in question.
"You have too much clothes," I explain.
"So do you." He tells me as he puts down our plates.
Something is different about him this morning. Liam looks relaxed, smiling ... happy?!
Yes, that is it, and it's not a look I have seen before. If you spent any time with Liam you know that he is polite, eloquent, seductive and serious. His usual smiles are courteous and well mannered, not reaching his eyes. And there is always, always this tense, intent streak of his coming out.
Not this morning.
There's this whole other side of Liam as well.
I like that brooding personality of his, but I like this one as well.
Liam sits on the edge of the bar stool and tugs on the sheet wrapping my body until I'm standing cradled between his legs.
He puts his whole palm on my cheek and I snuggle into it.
Expression of his face changes, his brown eyes narrow as they travel down my face like he is scanning every part of it.
"Our night has come to an end, my princess," he tells me.
The sadness washes over me like a wave. I let it pass through each of my cells as it drains down into the floor.
I knew this was coming. What we had tonight was more than I ever expected.
I don't want him to leave.
He holds my face with both of his hands as he kisses me softly.
"See, I'm already making you sad."
"You can't blame a girl for hoping." I answer.
I'm the one who put a deadline on one night only because I know myself and know that I will start bonding with him if he stays.
He obviously doesn't want that so we need to say good bye.
My insides twist but not in a good way.
Stop it Madison, you already had more than you ever imagined.
Somehow this doesn't help me as I feel some part of me rip in two.
He anchors his attention on my eyes.
"I'm still no good for you," his voice was soft, almost fragile.
"No," I say shaking my head.
"I'm not going to part with you in this way."
A tender smile appears on his face.
"Know that I will always treasure this night." Liam tells me.
"You better!" I mock him and step away pretending that I'm interested in the fried eggs that are cold by now. I sit my ass in the next stool and grab the coffee mug. At least that is still lukewarm.
He needs to leave and I need to give him the space to do it.
After a moment he stands from the stool and goes into the bedroom and the terrace collecting his things and dressing.
I pick through the food on my plate not really eating anything.
Fully dressed, he comes up to me and turns the chair so that I'm facing him.
I clench him to me with my legs and we kiss.
It felt like time stopped this time as his lips met mine. There was raw emotion in the way his fingers gripped the back of my head.
He breaks the kiss as we come up for air, still holding my head.
"I will go now."
I nod.
"Mr. Carver, it was a pleasure seeing you after all this time," I tell him mockingly.
"Miss. Ace, the pleasure was all mine!" he retorts, kisses me on the forehead.
I don't follow him downstairs as he leaves, but go to the terrace overlooking the driveway and engage the fence door to open.
Liam opens the car door, pausing one more time to wink at me before he gets into the car, starts it and drives away.
And just like that he is gone.
