Chapter 15: Let's Go on a Date, Again
Taehyung was nestled comfortably in bed, the soft linens wrapping around him. His butler was diligently tending to his fresh bruises, and luckily, the baby was sound asleep in the crib nearby. Despite the tranquility of the moment, the omega land was on high alert, its defenses activated due to the presence of two Alphas.
"I told you, I am just an outsider; I have no intention to do that!" protested a bound figure, trembling in the chair.
"Don't lie; you were obvious earlier. Do you think I'm that stupid?" Jungkook said venomously, standing over the man.
The individual was tied up, his head bleeding from the earlier interrogation, which had turned brutal under the watchful eyes of the two Alphas.
"Just fucking kill him if he won't speak!" Jimin growled, an edge of fury in his voice.
He was on the brink of losing control, his emotions surging.
"Can you calm down? I know what I’m doing," Jungkook rolled his eyes, unfazed by Jimin's agitation.
"Calm down? You want me to calm down?! We are just wasting our time with this bastard!" Jimin shouted, frustration bubbling over.
"Why are you acting stupid? I need information about those assholes who tried to harm Leader Kim," Jungkook retorted sharply.
"He doesn't want to tell anything about them! What’s the purpose of wasting our time here?!" Jimin grumbled.
"Trust me, he will speak whether he likes it or not," Jungkook said, a sinister grin spreading across his face.
Jimin observed Jungkook's demeanor, a mix of confusion and concern flashing through him. Jungkook stepped closer to the bound figure, retrieving a scalpel from his pocket.
"You see, I'm not a doctor, but I think I can open your head to check if you have a brain. Should we start now?" Jungkook smirked menacingly, the scalpel glinting ominously.
The beta's eyes widened in terror as Jungkook pressed the tip of the scalpel against his forehead, making him wince.
"I-it was Leader Dongshik's order, the leader of the betas!" the beta stammered, blood trickling from his forehead.
"See? It's easy to speak. Why are you making everything so hard? Such a waste of time," Jungkook muttered, pressing the scalpel deeper.
Jimin grimaced at the sight of the blood splattering, the tension in the room thickening.
Meanwhile, Taehyung woke up after a three-hour nap, his eyes fluttering open to find the baby crying. His butler had left to check the area, so he made his way to where Jimin was, hoping to find comfort in familiar company.
"Jimin, I'm sorry! I make you worry," Taehyung mumbled as he approached, fidgeting with his fingers.
Jimin's silence stung, and Taehyung felt a pang of guilt. He hated it when Jimin ignored him.
"Don't move; you're not healed yet," Jimin scolded, his gaze sharp as Taehyung attempted to stand.
Ignoring the warning, Taehyung rushed over and hugged Jimin tightly, careful not to disturb the baby.
"I'm really sorry! I know I was a fool for believing them. It won't happen again, hyung," Taehyung muttered, his voice muffled against Jimin's shoulder.
"You keep saying it won’t happen again, but look—you keep putting yourself in danger!" Jimin scolded, his frustration evident.
"I-I know! Please don't get mad at me," Taehyung pleaded, his voice trembling.
"How can I not get mad? You’re capable of being saved, Taehyung! If I hadn’t found out, what do you think would have happened, huh?!" Jimin's voice raised, causing the baby to wail.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and began to rock the baby gently. "Shh, it's okay," he whispered soothingly.
"Wuh-why are you like this as if you don't love me? Don't you love me anymore, that's why you're always mad at me?" Taehyung cried, tears forming in his eyes.
"It's not like that..." Jimin started, but Taehyung's tears flowed freely, and he felt overwhelmed.
"Fucking hell, fine! I forgive you, but shut your mouth or else I will take it back," Jimin groaned, finally relenting.
Taehyung immediately stopped crying and snuggled closer, burying his face into Jimin's neck.
At that moment, Jungkook appeared at the door, hearing Taehyung's cries. But what he saw made his heart sink—Taehyung and Jimin looked like a perfect family, their bond palpable. A wave of jealousy washed over him, making him question if he truly belonged in Taehyung's life.
"Is that you, Alpha?" Taehyung's soft voice broke through his thoughts.
"Yeah, I just wanted to check if you are fine, and I guess you already are. I'm going to leave now," Jungkook said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
Taehyung approached him, holding Jungkook's right hand with both of his own. "Thank you for saving me; I owe you my life, Alpha," he said sincerely, his eyes shining.
"It's nothing; don’t mind it. Besides, I wouldn't have known if your butler hadn't told me," Jungkook replied, trying to brush off the gratitude.
"No, at least let me pay you back for your kindness, please?" Taehyung insisted.
"How?" Jungkook asked, genuinely curious.
"I-I don’t know," Taehyung admitted, biting his bottom lip, feeling shy.
"Maybe we should go on a date again, is that okay?" Jungkook suggested, his smile infectious.
"Sure, I lik—" Taehyung began but was cut off.
"No—you're not going back to their land again, Kim Taehyung," Jimin interrupted, his tone firm.
"Then let me date here instead," Jungkook countered, looking at Jimin, challenging him.
"No—" Jimin started, but Taehyung interjected.
"Please, hyung! Just this once! It’s my way of thanking him. Besides, I’m safe here in my land, right?" Taehyung pouted, looking imploringly at Jimin.
"Fine, but make sure not to go outside yet," Jimin sighed, defeated but still protective.
"It’s a yes, Alpha!" Taehyung giggled, excitement lighting up his face.
"That's good; I'm going now. Let's meet tomorrow, okay?" Jungkook smiled.
"Okay, Alpha," Taehyung replied, his heart fluttering.
As Jungkook leaned in to peck the back of Taehyung's hand, the omega felt heat rush to his cheeks. Jimin rolled his eyes, but a small smile crept onto his face as Jungkook left.
As the door closed behind Jungkook, Jimin turned to Taehyung, his expression softening. "Just be careful, okay? I don’t want to see you hurt again."
Taehyung nodded, his heart swelling with gratitude. "I promise, hyung. I’ll be careful."
And with that, they settled into a comfortable silence, knowing their bond would only grow stronger in the days to come.
