You know what the great thing about babies is? They are like little bundles of hope. Like the future in a basket.
-Lish McBride

Once the pregnancy got past the six months mark my life seemed to absolutely explode in chaos.

First me and Teddy set up a room in the house for the babies, and we'd be lying if we said that when buying things we didn't go all out.

My dads bought a bunch of shit too, my Aunt Emma bought a bunch of joke based onesie's for them -my personal favorite includes ones from Star Wars and two really funny chemistry puns.

The sex reveal for both babies is going to be read out by Mikayla, who's looks more excited than she ever has.

Her bright gold makeup reminds me of the day we wet, and the white and gold dress she's wearing makes her already dark skin pop out against her dyed blue hair all the more. This time the blue was a darker color too, instead of a bright blue.

Celeste is all excited and everything, ever since I told her that her and Xander are who I want to be the babies' god parents.

Somehow the little shit missed the fact that I trust her, and completely missed me asking her about god parents with Xander when I visited.

That girl either misses everything or notices every detail, and there's absolutely no in-between.

One of the first people that Teddy met besides my dads, were Papa Lee and Grams and one of the first things I saw his cyan eyes lock on was the cross around Papa Lee's neck and the Virgin Mary around Grams'.

They were talking all excitedly about how they're excited about 'little Nol' and his 'cute boyfriend' are already somehow grandparents -a description I never want to hear of my parents again.

"You're..." Teddy hesitates to ask, eyebrow raising at them. "Religious?"

"Yes." Papa Lee says with a slight chuckle, probably able to guess why he's asking. "I follow the bible. The best rule I've learned is to love all. Respect women. Love washes away sin. Nowhere does it say being gay is a sin, man shall not lay with boy. Which is later translated to mean homosexuals, not pedophiles. I don't follow Leviticus. You are quite welcome in my home whenever you need."

Teddy looks like he's about to tear up, making Grams wrap him in a hug.

"Honey," She calls him. "If you're god's child, whether you believe in him or not, being gay won't change a thing. You're accept and worthy in his eyes."

I love my family.

It's just about time for Mikayla to do the sex reveal when my doorbell rings, Engel and his boyfriend Trevis are the first ones to get to it.

There are multiple ways this all could go wrong.

And EJ proves my point, because the first thing he says after opening the door is simply, "What in the Gay Hell?"

Trevis makes a faces while standing in the doorway next to me, leaning back to meet my eye. "I'm pretty sure she's from regular Hell, actually."

Looking around the corner, I see Violet standing there with side eyes and a bundle of paperwork.

"Thatch?" She says, holding the paperwork out to me almost like she's bowing. "Please take these, I already cleared it with my lawyer."

Blanching, I numbly step forward and take it, anxiety crawling up my neck. "W-why do I need papers from your lawyer?"

"I signed over my parental rights to you. All you have to do is accept full responsibility for the twins. You can even add a legal guardian, like your parents or um," Oddly, like she's nervous for some reason, she motions beside me and I glance over to see Teddy standing there wide eyed. "Him."
