The Mysterious Island

Chapter 1: The Journey to The Island

As I make my way over to my closet I begin to pack the clothes that I forgot to pack last night "I really should have done this last night" I mutter under my breath. "AIDEN COME ON! WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE! SO HURRY UP" Josh yells up the stairs to me I finish packing my clothes and get dressed I run down the stairs and to the front door grabbing the other bags that I will need on this new adventure as I put my shoes on Josh open's the door probably to yell up at me to hurry up. "Oh, you are already down here...Um well good morning but seriously hurry up" he says probably surprised to see me already here but I am just too excited I really can't wait so I rush to the car and get in the passenger side I begin to think as Josh pulls away from the house. I think Josh may be feeling a bit more nervous than I am, although he always gets nervous before the dangerous adventures, I think he would rather go on the safer ones but he also would never leave me alone on these types of adventures he says that I am too reckless and have no sense of self-preservation so makes sure I don't die I think it is really sweet of him to always be there to protect me but sometimes he gets a little over-protective I feel my phone buzzing and check to see who is calling me "who is it?" Josh asks as we stop at a red light "My dad" I respond already dreading what is about to happen "oh boy here we go" Josh says already knowing what is about to happen.

"Hello" I answer and I am immediately met with my whole family screaming hello, I wince as I put the phone on speaker so Josh can hear them as well "Alex are you on your way now? or are you still in the house?" My dad asks "we are already halfway to the airport dad you know I like to leave for adventures early" I respond my dad sighs and says "well then, I wish you good luck on your adventure and be safe or I will send your father to kick your ass." I laugh and respond with "dad this is me we are talking about when am I ever safe, anyways thank you for offering to look after the house for us but we really have to go bye I love you guys" I hear a chorus of goodbyes, I love you's, and be safe's before I hang up the phone "well, that was fun" Josh says while chuckling "yeah" I say "you know I really hate the dangerous adventures because you always end up getting hurt and I hate when you are hurt" Josh says to me in slight concern I look at him and say "yeah, but that's why you come with me, you are always there to make sure I don't get hurt and keep me out of trouble".

We finally make to the airport, we make our way through security and our flight gets called we board the plane and get to our seats we sit down and Josh immediately lies his head on my shoulder and falls asleep I turn my head towards the window and watch as we take off. When I wake up I notice we are preparing to land I look over to Josh and shake him awake "huh? are we here already?" he says sluggishly "Yeah now come on sleepy butt we have to get off" I respond as I stand up and get ready to leave the plane. Josh slowly follows me and stretches we get into the rental car and drive to the hotel when we get there I go and check us in we got a room with two twin-sized beds we set our stuff down and grab the necessary equipment we the make our way down to the docks and we ask around and finally, we got someone to bring us to the island "you ready Josh? I think this may be our most dangerous adventure yet" I say excitedly josh looks at me and says in slight concern "I am most certainly not ready but there is no turning back now right?" I laugh and say "yeah I guess there is no turning back now" we both quiet down and look at the sign "Maston Island turn back or meet your demise"
