"You're brother's...wife?" I uttered in astonishment. What did he mean by was?

"Hendrick Thorne was my older brother. He died three years ago. Erin was his widow."

It was a revelation that had me at one's wits end. How come no one had ever mentioned he had a brother before?

I sank in my seat and stared in the empty space as foolishness shredded my insides. I felt embarrassed for believing the hearsays, and for jumping to the worst conclusion.

"Jesus, Addie. I did not come here all the way from Greece and suffered a burning ass for ten hours just to explain who the fuck is Erin in my life. And I didn't come here to witness your reunion with your ex, either! What the fuck was that, anyway?"

I know that I was not fair to him, but that doesn't mean he can now accuse me of anything or someone who has no self-regard. Mikhail was quick in turning the tables.

"If you're referring about what you saw, I was not a willing participant of that kiss."

"Were you so pissed off at me that when you find out about Erin you immediately went to retaliate? Was it a payback?"

My fingers knotted into fists. "That's not true."

"I. Do. Not. Want. You. To. See. Him. Again." He stressed each word with gritted teeth. "Understood?"

"I did not ask Xander to see me."

"Doesn't matter one way or the other! "

My eyes narrowed. It seems that no matter what I say he always have the last word. Sighing in defeat, I said, "All right. Are we done?"

"Give me your phone," he demanded.

"What? I don't have it right now."

"I want to make sure he can't reach you in any way. I'll get you another phone."

I can't believe I am hearing this.

"Do you realize that's a personal stuff you want to replace?"

"This is not up for a negotiation, Adelaine. I'm not in the mood right now." He was dead serious.

Oh god, who died and made him the boss?

"You have no right to do that," I said while shaking my head. "I'm out of your affairs."

He was at me in an instant, pouncing like a lion to a deer. It was too sudden, I was unprepared. My eyes went wide as his offensive hands grasped my face. "I'm sorry, sugar, but that doesn't work for me," he said in a mocking tone. "You are my girl. What I claim as mine is mine. No holding back and you cannot retreat."

I couldn't move my face away, his hands were securing my head.

"I have an idea, Adelaine? Why don't we settle this argument like mature adults? Naked. In bed."

No. He didn't just say that, did he?

"You never left my mind while I was in my business trip," Mikhail whispered in my lips, his breath grazing and tantalizing my skin. "Wondering what you are doing or where you are at the moment. Wondering what you were wearing. My trip isn't suppose to end until Tuesday, but hell if I choose to stay when you are about to be taken away."

He crushed his mouth savagely into mine. I did not whimper.

I groaned.

I was hot on war with him a while ago but all he needed to do was kiss me in lewd, open-mouthed way and my body began to betray me. Mikhail groped my face and went on for minutes with his kiss; his hands held my face tight, his tongue explored my mouth, until the tremors of my body had eased. My lungs were in labor when he pulled away.
