You look at me
and see only what you despise
I'm so damned tired
of seeing myself through your eyes
I'll never be
never be what you desire
but that's ok
because your eyes are a liar
all i ever needed
was to be seen as your son
all you ever wanted
was for me to be another one
and you've finally pushed me
you've pushed me too far
and I know that I'll never
never be where you are
you take my foundations
and tear them all down
I reach for your hand
and you just watch me drown
I beg for your help
so you help me to fail
I long for your arms
but your love is for sale
and I cannot afford
what your love would cost
so I'll wander in darkness
knowing I'm lost
while you feed all my doubts
and remind me to fear
making me wonder
why i am still here
so I'll make you this offer
though I know what you'll say
stay out of my life
and I'll just go away
