A/N: Sooo I really like Guy....... But I'm not the biggest fan of Eep :/ Sorry lol She's an okay character, but I really want to ship Guy with someone who I think is more suited for him... (I might even write a whole Guy x OC story if enough people are interested...) But for now, this a just a Guy x Reader where you're basically taking the place of Dawn's character from the new movie... Hope you peeps enjoy!

**Also, in case you missed my note in the summary of this story, I haven't actually seen The Croods 2 yet so please don't spoil anything for me if you have! I've only watched bits and pieces from the trailers so far, which is what this oneshot is based off of (the Dawn x Guy reunion part) so do keep that in mind...

A few butterflies floated by outside your window, making you grin as your [e/c] iris' followed them. The two insects eventually landed on a vine of tropical flowers that was nearby, pausing to stretching their beautiful wings as they collected some nectar...

You sighed as you watched the unusual creatures take off again, heading away from your home and towards destinations unknown. Probably experiencing more excitement than I ever will... Your inner voice grumbled, knowing you'd never be able to be so free. Sometimes I wish I had wings....... Then I could just float away if I wanted to-

"[Y/N]!"

You jumped as your mother's voice cut through your daydreams, making you shake your head breifly before looking around.

"[Y/N] dear, come quick!" Her voice called from downstairs, the urgent tone that was lacing it causing you to leap up and head that way...

Your feet carried you down the tree house's steps carefully as you dashed into the front room, catching a glimpse of your mother and father standing in front of a group of strangers. One of the newcomers looked somewhat familiar however, your mind quickly connecting the dots as your mother smiled.

"Look who we found dear..."

"G-Guy?!" You gasped, truly not believing what you were seeing.

"[Y/N]!!"

Faster than you could react Guy was rushing forward, sweeping you off your feet and spinning you around as you both laughed. You grabbed onto his shoulders as you hugged him back, incredibly happy to see your long lost friend again.

"I... I can't believe it..." You mumbled, still shocked about all this as you placed a gentle hand on his cheek. "It's really you..."

"Grrrr..."

You blinked a few times before glancing behind you, finally noticing the group of strangers that were all staring your way. The orange haired girl, who appeared to be about the same age as you, was giving you an especially threatening look as she glanced back and forth between you and Guy...

"Oh yeah! [Y/N], these are the Croods..." Guy explained, gesturing to the interesting looking family before continuing. "Croods, this is [Y/N]....... My best friend!" He stated happily, laughing and placing an arm around your shoulders before pulling you close once more.

You felt your cheeks heat up and your heart begin to race as you looked up at Guy, immediately noticing how much he had changed during the time he'd been gone. He's so big... And tall now... You thought, eyeing him up before looking away quickly.

Your mother smirked before sighing, moving to hold her husband's hand while staring at the two of you. "[Y/N] and Guy used to be inseperable when they were younger..." She commented, knowing herself how much you had missed him. "Simply inseperable..."

"Mmhmm," Your father nodded, shaking his head breifly before changing the subject. "But jeez, you must be exhausted from your travels... How about we get you all settled in?" He suggested, waving a welcoming hand towards the showers nearby.

"Sounds great..." Ugga commented, absolutely ready for a break as the rest of the Croods seemed to agree. Sandy screeched happily as she jumped off her mother's shoulders, immediately running around in circles as the woman sighed. Grug smiled before picking the younger girl up, letting her run around on his shoulders for a change while he glanced around.

At least this place seems safe... He thought, looking around at his family's reactions. Everyone seemed to be thrilled about the new arrangements, getting comfortable and chatting it up with the Bettermans as they showed them around their home. Eep seemed less enthusiastic about their recent discovery however, and though Grug wouldn't consider himself to be the most intelligent individual, he thought he could imagine why...

"[Y/N] honey, why don't you head down to the gardens and pick out some fresh herbs for dinner?" Your mother piped up, her eyes crinkling mischeiviously as she continued. "You can take Guy with you and the two of you can catch up!"

"Mom... I... I'm sure he just wants to relax..." You stammered, knowing exactly what she was up to...

"I don't mind," Guy answered quickly, sending another heart stopping smile your way. "It would be fun to hear what you've been up to this whole time!" He finished, looking back at the Croods for a second as Eep and Grug stared his way. "As long as that's okay...?"

Eep frowned as she opened her mouth to speak, clearly not liking where this was going. "Well-"

"Oh why wouldn't it be dear?" Your mother interrupted, cutting the other woman off and shooing you and Guy towards the door before anyone could argue. "Make sure you get plently of rosemary [Y/N]!" She called out, giving your retreating form a wink as you glanced back.

The blush on your cheeks intensified as you looked away, focusing on Guy and the path to the garden as you both went to fufil your mother's task...
