Chapter 1- My friend and the exchange student
Alice was sweating buckets in the blazing sun which decided to dance away from the clouds. Her Popsicle was dripping off its stick staining the wood as she desperately tried to lick it off before it fell to the pavement. Her dark hands were covered in the sticky substance as she waited for her friend. The breeze was still and every purple hair in her fluffy hair felt like hell.
"What in the devil's asshole is taking that dude so long" she sighed heavily in the undying heat "How much of a piss does he need to take." She looked at the men's bathroom sign as the sound of bees and car horns blasted through the teens ears. She's turning 17 tomorrow happy birthday eve to her I guess. Finally her tall black haired friend emerged with the clank of his chains on his belt and his black lipstick slightly smeared. "Sup birthday girl!" His cold exterior was ripped apart with his cheery smile and excited nature. He walked like a little kid in a candy palace. His hair was longer than Alice's which fit his body because he has about 2 feet on her with her tiny 5 foot self. One was dressed in mostly pastels the other was dressed in pure black. They looked like they were in complete opposite universes.
"How long do you pee dude you were in there for an hour."
"I was in there for like 5 minutes at most it's not my fault you don't pee you gremlin!"
" Aw what you gonna cry about it you big baby." She sighs hiding a grin " Go on whine about it."
With a huff and a puff the Gothic ray of sunshine turned dramatically and shunned his best friend with a small "hmph" like a toddler who didn't get enough fruit snacks. The two giggled at the drama and walked down the sidewalk. They reached the buss stop and rushed in when the bus eventually came. They darted straight to "their" seat in the back to the left there they were able to see all the swear words in graffiti. They were two preschoolers in the world of adults laughing at childish things. The engine hummed and all was right with the world. She did not need love she just needed her friend. The lonely ache in her heart was not real if she pretended it wasn't.
They walked to her house with a pep in their step and talked about whatever came to their minds. "Did you see the new murder or die game?" Alice asked. " I can't watch those games they hurt my heart. My favorite character dies and then I cry for weeks!" he gave puppy eyes as he said it making Alice chuckle. "Oliver your heart doesn't match your spikes ya know." her tone was endearing like she was talking to a two year old. "Fashion does not have to represent me just what I like thank you very much miss love." He stuck his tongue out at her in childish retaliation. They giggled their way to the rest of the way to her house.
" Hey Ma Ollie is over." Alice yelled. "Isn't he always ?!" her mom retaliated in a cheerful manner. " How is my adopted son" she smiled brightly at him. "Good mom!" he responded with a bright smile and a heart full of joy. " Make sure to make my biological child gets outside or else she might become her computer screen." she teased. "Yes ma'am!" They then skipped up to her room to their usual spots.
"There's gonna be a new student soon you think she'll be a social outcast like us." Alice was typing on her keyboard just throwing random ideas out as she always does. "Hey! maybe she'll be a big ol' sweetheart and I can play y games with her!" He beamed. Alice spun in her chair to face him"If you find someone to play kiss kiss my cute animal mobile I will personally give you 10 dollars." She extended her hand to him with one eyebrow cocked. "Deal! " He shook her hand harshly with his hand in his long sleeved sweater. Alice smirked as she looked back at him and spun back to her computer. "What a chump..." She shook her head thinking of the easy cash she would make.
Alice noticed a notification on her phone and smiled. "welp I guess I am open for business again." She whispered it with a happiness which was a small light that came with her usual sarcastic behavior. "Thank you for taking an interest in the matchmaking service how many I your secret cupid help you!" She responded. This is what she did when nobody was paying attention. This is what she did when the world seemed cruel. She was a matchmaking angel to at least 20 couples and she could never be happier. She would set people up who longed for each other. She has even set kids up who have called her a freak of nature. Why? Because she is in love with the idea of love. Even though she will never feel it herself because in her own words she is a "monster".
( Authors note: Sorry the first chapter is so short the next will be much longer I promise. This is just me starting it all out. I hope you like the start :). I will most likely post a new chapter weekly. Thank you for reading! See you next time)
