I heard the rain hit the window as I slowly started to wake up, I got chills all over my body as I started to get out of my bed. I put on my green slippers and walked over to the window. I looked outside, it was extremely dark only the stars were giving light. I turned my head towards my bedstand to look at my clock. It was 1:23 am, I walked back to my bed. Fixing my silk light green pajamas. I laid down and stared at my ceiling before I knew it I fell back asleep.

"CLAY?!!!!"

I jolted up from hearing my name being yelled. I quickly looked at my phone that was next to my pillow, it was 11:02 am. Damn it I woke up extremely late, I got up quickly and ran out of my room, running to the dining room.

"CLAY?!?!"

"I'm here mother, sorry I woke up late!"

"Ah, good morning sweetheart! It's fine, hurry and sit down and eat before your father-"

"WELL. Good morning Clay."

"good morning father..."

"Speak up boy, nobody can hear you when you're mumbling under your breath."

"Sorry. Good morning Father!"

"Better. Hurry and finish your breakfast. It's already 11. You have training with the Halo's son at 1 pm. Since you decided to be a lazy bum, and oversleep. You are going to practice for 5 hours today."

"5 HOURS?! FATHER, YOU'RE CRAZY!"

"Excuse me? Don't raise your voice at me."

"Wilbur, my love. Don't you think adding 3 more hours to his practice is a bit...harsh?"

"No Niki. Darling, adding 3 more hours is not only going to help him become a better fighter but also he needs to face the punishment. Clay, man up. You're making me believe that you're not fit to be a prince."

"Yes, father, sorry father."

"Stop apologizing and get it done. Finish your breakfast and go get dressed. You must be ready before 1 and be at the arena at 1 pm. SHARP. Don't test my patience, today boy."

"Yes sir."

He walked out of the dining room and I looked over to my mother. She gave a small and reassuring smile.

"Eat up before your food gets cold!"

I nodded and began to ate. Nobody was with me eating so I assumed that Tommy and Tubbo already ate breakfast with mother and father. I wasn't sure why he was so more rude or strict. I began to think of reasons why. As I was eating my pancakes and eggs, it hit me. He only became more harsh and rude after I had a practice match with Bad.

Bad Halo. Bad is the son of a knight who has been serving my family for years. As well as his mother. His father and mother became very well friends with my parents. Soon enough I and Bad became best friends. We would message each other and hang out all the time. Growing up with one another made things easier. We were taught how to fight due to not only mobs but also people.  Since Bad is the son of a knight, he was good. But I was better.

"BEGIN!"

I saw Bad charging at me and swung his sword, I quickly placed up my shield to block his hit. I got my ax and started to swing as well, instead of placing up his shield he walked backward, dodging my ax. I should have thought more quickly as well as smarter. I drew my bow to land a shot but Bad put up his shield and blocked it. That's when he attacked me with the sword, he got quicker and thought smarter. He saw that I was surprised and pushed forward. I tripped over my own feet and fell onto the ground. I looked up and saw Bad placing his sword in front of my face.

"Alright. Bad you won the match"

I was still sitting on the floor, looking at Bad. He placed down his sword and gave me his hand. I took the hand and stood back up.

"That was really good Bad!!!!" I said cheerfully

"Thanks, dream!"

From the corner of my eye was my father.

"Darryl his name isn't 'Dream' it's Clay. And Clay his name isn't 'Bad' It's Darryl. Use the names your mothers gave you. Darryl good job, you're excused."

"Sorry sir, won't happen again. But I was wondering if I could hang out with Dr- Clay."

"Sorry Darryl, not today. Perhaps tomorrow. Bye now Darryl"

"Oh- alright then. Thank you for having me over once again. Goodbye King Wilbur, and goodbye Clay. Wish you a great rest of your evening. "

"Bye!" I waved frantically and he waved back and smiled.

"Dad, Bad did well today. He has never beaten me! That's so great that he's improving!"

"No."

"No?"

"No. Darryl did the same today, as he always does. You are getting worse. I was so proud that you were great. Now you are disappointing. Knight Halo has explained that Darryl is most likely not going to improve. He has the same mistakes as he had 7 years ago. Clay. Man up, grow a pair. I'm starting to feel like I have a daughter instead of a son."

"Sorry, dad..."

"Correction, 'Father'. You aren't 9 anymore Clay. You are 19. Act your age for once in your life. Call Darryl that pet nickname 'Bad' again, you'll wish you hadn't. I don't need a gay in my life. I  thought it was already taken from you. Let's not forget the last gay you talked to."

Of course, it was that damn match, now I have to get ready to fight Bad again. That match was 5 months ago, ever since dad has been harsh. It makes sense now, I finished my breakfast and left my dishes on the table. The maid would get it for me like always. I walked back into my room and went to change into my practice clothes. I looked in the mirror and saw my back. Scars and slashes all over my back from matches. I went to wash my face and my cheek stung, I had a bandaid on since my father slapped me because I gave 'attitude'. He rarely hit me, but he would always bully me and yell at me. I was used to it at this point, nothing new. And as for my lover, the man who I thought was going to be with me forever, gone. I don't know what happened. But I knew my father was behind it. As he said "A king dates a woman. Not a man. King and Queen are how it should be, not King and King."

He doesn't need a gay in his life...lesson learned...
