Morning. Another bland day.
Halley let out a sigh and sat up in bed. He looked over at his phone, which was curiously on despite being set to go to sleep after 15 seconds of inactivity. He hadn't used it all night. It was a bit odd, but he shrugged and left it there. Guess I'll make breakfast or something...

As he stepped out into the hall, his nose twitched, noticing a rather pleasant aroma coming from downstairs. It was doughy, like those you'd smell in a bakery. He hadn't brought any candles recently, and even if he had, he hadn't gone to sleep with one lit. So where the sent was coming from was unknown. Maybe I'm imagining it...
He shrugged and continued on downstairs. Wiping his eyes as he entered the kitchen, he wasn't expecting anyone to be there when he opened them, much less the creature that stood before him.

"Oh hey, You're awake," A masculine voice spoke, "I've made breakfast!"

Before Halley was a humanoid-like creature with black fur and a canine-like skull for a face. Seeing the lips of the skull curl into a smile was rather grotesque.

"You seem a little shocked, so why don't we introduce ourselves. I'm Mal0." The creature said, still smiling. It stepped forward and held out a boney hand. Halley just stared at it.

"Wait...you mean.."

"Yeah, from the app you got yesterday. You see, when someone downloads my app, I manifest into their reality. I'm happy you chose me to be your companion." It smiled once again.

Halley stared in disbelief. "No way...this isolation is driving me mad...It'll probably go away if I ignore it." That being said, Halley went back upstairs and into his room. His eyes immediately went to his bedside table where his phone sat, still on. He went over and picked it up, surprised when he saw that he'd got a message from an unknown number. His blood ran cold when opening the message, he saw what was a picture of him sleeping. The thing downstairs, yeah sure, that's probably a figment of my imagination but this...this is something else. Does that thing have anything to do with this?

"Are you going to come back downstairs? You're foods going to get cold."

Hal turned around to face the doorway, where the creature was standing.

"Oh, did you see my message? About around every hour, you'll be sent a picture of yourself in whatever location you're in. If you look, I'm there in the shot somewhere. I'm basically with you at all times. You're obviously quite lonely if you downloaded my app so I'll make sure you're never feel lonely again!"

"..."

"Still don't think I'm real? Okay, if I wasn't real would I be able to do this?"

Before Halley could tell it to stay away, it wrapped it's arms around him, pulling him close. It smiled as it rested its head on Hal's shoulder. The sensation of bare bone touching his fur made him want to hurl.

"Ok yeah you're right, guess if you weren't real, you wouldn't be able to touch me. Now please let go."

As asked, Mal0 released him.

"Guess I'll come have breakfast with you," Halley said, scratching the back of his head. Mal0 let out a quiet 'Yay!' before turning to go back downstairs. Despite how unusual Mal0 looked, seeing him happy made Halley feel a little warm inside.
No one's ever been this happy to spend time with me...Maybe I won't mind this as much afterall..
