I breathed light, not to spat a puff of breathe in the stranger's face. Silence corrupted between the two of us.Dead silence. Awkward silence. I seem to have close my eyes and drift into the darkness of my mind...

Because, I never remembered waking up on a bed of dandelions, which seem to weave pass my arms and reaching high into the sky, giving a glorious dance. Becoming discomfort to my back, I let out a groan, as of arching my back up skyward. Sitting up from laying on the cold, hard ground...

"I see you are up, Brooke..."

He positioned himself from a cross of his legs to a kneel. His sudden voice cut through the soft breeze, as of letting the dandelions sway slowly to a stop. Only did my heart feel it was going to leap from my chest. How long has he been awake? How long was he watching me sleep?

"Hayden...right?"

"You at least remember in the small amount of time you were asleep..." I sensed sarcasm. Sarcasm isn't in my favor of friendly attitude. I watched his gaze follow towards the peaking sun over the tall trees that surrounded the valley filled with dandelions.

The first time I saw Hayden's physical appearance...

He had a cluster of bronze waves that fallen over the glimpse of his gleaming eyes. Those arctic-blue eyes that drowned out any stare into an illusion of ocean waves.

"You are staring, Brooke..."

'When did I even start?'

I had to admit. I felt embarrassed in getting caught for staring. It is a gesture of rudeness. But, only did I kept my silver eyes fixed on his appearance.

Tan-surfaced skin, with a sudden ray of sunlight that sneaked over the tall trees. It struck right upon Hayden's waves of bronze, now giving off a blinding color of pure gold. It seemed astonishing, only setting off the scenery with such a numbing warmth. I am meaning the sunshine, possessive in my eyes. I thought I knew how real warmth felt like. Now I really know how natural warmth feels like, created by Mother Nature.

"You seem...mesmerized?" Hayden question, with a wave of confusion in his eyes. Only did I find him staring at me. The warmth from the sunshine peaking over the tree tops, against my pale cheeks, hidden my blush from another round of embarrassment.

"I am. It's just...I thought I knew what true warmth was when all this time, I was swimming in the freezing current of darkness..."

Hayden's arctic-blue eyes stared straight into the surface of my silver pair, questioning the meaning behind my words. A hint, they seemed to ask.

"...I was held from observing the beauty of the world by my Father. He left me in my bedroom, everyday, to entertain myself with the accompany of me, my mind, and the shadows that swirled from the darkest corners of the room-"

"-Do you tame the power to control shadows?" By his way of asking, he seemed confused in my chose of my words. But, his eyes sparked another meaning.

'Do I?'
"Last time I checked, I was still blood and bones. I still am-"

"-Blood and bones do not define anyone's appearance, nor heritage based on this Realm's outlook, Brooke." Hayden shuddered a breathe, as if my statement mentally struck a sentimental nerve in him. It possibly did.

"Oh..." Was all I managed to say. Hayden's sight shifted right in the spotlight of sunlight. I forced myself to look away, as of the intension between Hayden and I growing thick for the many moments that passed. Thick enough that not even a deep cut will reduce the growth of the intension. Until Hayden's words popped the fragile barrier;

"We might as well start our journey to the Nightfall's Peak..."

"And, what is that?"

"The most magnificent site in a Night's scenery!" Hayden exclaimed, Brooke daring to gaze back towards Hayden's appearance, only to meet Hayden's hovering silhouette as of his hand extended for me to grasp.Take my hand and I will lead you there, his glowing eyes seem to plead. I didn't bother to question his generous action, as of a firm grasp on his extended hand and being hauled to my feet.

The surprising thing is; Hayden didn't loosen grasp on my hand. I didn't react in such the warming sensation I felt at his sudden touch.

"I will lead you. But, we must keep our pace quick and simple. If we keep on our feet, we will be at the Peak before the sun kisses the horizon!"

'Alright. No stops. Gotta stay on my feet...'

"The Sky's Downfall will be a moment to remember, Brooke."

"-Wait, what?" At Hayden's words, it shattered her thoughts.
'Sky Downfall?!'
"What does Downfall even mean, in your definition?"

"The Sky's Downfall is where the stars shed tears. They will shed their tears only for every other decade. And, this decade is the chosen decade to open up a portal between Realms!"

"I..." My words were lodged in my throat, as of my opinion being held back. Hayden's...saying are sounds so crazy. But, it sounds all so familiar.
