I quickly forgot all about the man, but all of that changed one day.
On a tiring weekend when I had had enough of studying illnesses, I decided to go downstairs to the cafe for a drink.
As I walked in and sat down with my drink (an iced mocha), I started playing 'Spring Day' on my phone, took my computer out and continued to write my fanfiction, but I soon got lost in the music, and my story was long forgotten.
As I sat there with my eyes closed, and my head nodding along to the music, the bell of the shop jingled as someone walked in. I was so engrossed in the music that I didn't notice the man walking towards me, and when he cleared his throat, I didn't even hear him. He eventually knocked on the table, and I looked up, startled and embarrassed, to see a man in a striped t-shirt, with a black mask and cap, and holding a blended cold drink. I realized he was the man from before and was stunned for a second, before I apologizing for ignoring him as I took out my earphones and tilted my head at him, asking him what he wanted.
He rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, and pointed at the seat across from me, asking, "Is this seat taken?" That day, the cafe was not very crowded, but there were no seats where you could have a table to yourself.
I was a very outgoing person, so I smiled and said, "Of course!" even though he looked a bit suspicious.
As I stuffed my earbuds back into my ears, I heard him ask," What are you listening to?" I answered, "BTS," He looked amused, and asked, "Oh, you like BTS? Who's your bias?" I smiled and said, "Jungkook," "He's my bias too," "Oh really?" I said, raising my eyebrows. "I didn't bring my earbuds, can I listen with you?" he asked, his eyes crinkling in a shy smile. So I took one earbud out and handed it to him. It was hard leaning over the table so the earbuds wouldn't fall out, and he saw that, so he scooted his chair closer to me, and I scooted closer to him.
We started chatting and became friends. But when he absent-mindedly removed his mask to have a drink, there was a collective gasp in the cafe. I was starstruck too. Because he was Jungkook! Then we were mobbed. He grabbed my hand and said, "Run!" Shaking myself, I grabbed my bag and started running. He pulled me through the crowds as ARMYs chased us and we finally ducked into an alley and watched as the fans charged past, completely oblivious that they had just run past the star they were chasing.
We tried to catch our breath as we leaned against the wall. I looked over at him and admired his visuals. "Jeon Jungkook, huh?" "Yeah, but--" "But what?" "Can we still be friends?"
I still looked at him, shocked that he would want to be friends with a normal fangirl like me. "Su-sure!" I said, dipping my head down and blushing. Then he handed me his phone. "Wha-what?" he smiled and blushed too. "Um... can I have your number?" So I took his phone and keyed it in.
He took his phone back, and read the contact name. "Y/N?" "Yeah..." "It's a really beautiful name, I like it!" "Tha-thank you!"
Then my phone beeped. An unknown number had said, "We should meet up again soon, yeah?" and I looked up to see Jungkook walking away.
That night, while laying in bed, I kept on having flashbacks of Jungkook's smile. I subconsciously started smiling as well. I realized I was wearing a grin and flipped over, burying my head in the pillow as butterflies exploded in my stomach. I remember studying about a symptom like this, and I quickly looked on google to see what is was called. Oh yeah...
