The bird with broken wings still fly’s

All though it may struggle at times it still try’s

To live life free

Floating through the air

No one stops to help

Sometimes life isn’t fair

People sit back and stare as the bird spreads its broken wings

But through it all the wounded bird still sings

Staying positive as negativity breaths

A trail of stolen dreams lie

Our society is filled with thieves

People that try and hold us back

From all our goals

As if it isn’t already hard enough just dealing

With life’s highs and lows

But the bird with broken wings keeps the will to survive

Fighting, but with no tools to thrive

Forced to work ten times harder than the rest

Searching for a peaceful place to sleep

No love in the nest

So tell me what it is

That keeps this broken winged bird from giving in

Is it because its grown accustom to the struggle?

In which its faced again and again

Or maybe its the fact that the bird saw the world

Now it affects all it’s decisions

The optimism of living a productive life

Clouds the bird’s vision

The one thing we know is this bird will never accept demise

The bird with broken wings still fly’s

(Authors Note) I usually don't explain my poems. I like to leave room for people's own interpretation. But I would like to bring clarity to this piece. The bird with broken wings still fllys is an analogy for anybody who is trying to survive in life with an infirmity. A cheek in your armor if you will... The broken wing in this story can be depression, lack of resources, etc... You can place yourself in this poem and directly relate to the bird that's trying his hardest to fly through the broken wing and all life is throwing at us. But remember we don't fly alone. God will help us... Blessings

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
