Chapter 4- Forever Fall (Vol. 1)

Y/n pov

You let out a relaxed sigh as you walked through the calm forest of Forever Fall. The red trees around you slowly shake as the wind blows against them. For some reason today you had been given the assigment to collect samples from the trees by Professor Peach with Professor Glynda leading as the teacher for the trip.

Glynda: "Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so."

Everyone once you reach a small clearing in the forest, looking back you see Jaune trying to catch up while carrying large cases of six empty glass jars on top. He soon accidentaly bumps into Cardin who scrowls at Jaune, who attempts to feign innocence by whistling tunelessly. Jaune quickly goes around Cardin to try and get to his team, only for the bully to stick his leg out causing Jaune to trip and almost fall over.

Y/n: (Thoughts) "Dammit Jaune, you can't let him push you around like that..."

Glynda: "Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!"

Jaune quickly tries to make his way past the other students to get to his team. But Cardin sees this and grabs Jaune by the back.

Cardin: "Come on, Buddy. Let's go!"

Jaune looks over at his team with a miserable look on his face. he soon drops his gaze before turning around and following team CRDL. You glance over to Pyrrha and see her sigh before walking off with Nora and Ren. Making your way over you lightly pat Pyrrha on the shoulder making her turn around.

Pyrrha: "Oh, Y/n. Is there something you wanted?"

Y/n: "We need to talk."

Pyrrha: "About?"

Y/n: "We both know what."

Pyrrha sighs before slowly nodding, the two of you walk abit away from the other students and sit down by some trees.

Y/n: "Jaune can't let Cardin push him around like that."

Pyrrha: "I know, but there isn't much we can do."

Y/n: "Of course there is. Teach him to grow more of a spine."

Pyrrha: "You make it sound easy..."

Y/n: "Because it is, What he needs is confidence in himself. WIthout that he will always be Cardin's punch bag."

The two of you sit in dead silence for a few minutes, the only sound being heard is the leaves rustling. You sigh and go to stand up only for Pyrrha to speak up.

Pyrrha: "He told me he never went to a combat school, that he faked his entrance transcript."

Y/n: "So he finally admitted it, huh?"

Pyrrha: (Suprised) "Wait, you knew?"

Y/n: "He told me last week, remember Jaune and I stayed after Professor Glynda's sparring class?"

Pyrrha: "So you knew and didn't tell any one....Why?"

Y/n: "Because it wasn't for me to say. He has to admit it himself, otherwise he will crawl back in his shell."

You both stand up and look at each other, a small smile forming on Pyrrha's face.

Pyrrha: "But why would you care so much about Jaune?"
