The Lady

PART 1 - THE MYSTERIOUS WITCH

Birds are chirping everywhere as they fly together with the cold wind breeze of summer's dawn. Under their wings is a humble house erected using old woods and dried hay tied tightly together to form a very simple house. The hut has two pairs of windows. One pair is facing the east wherein a mighty mountain of wild jungle, with tall old trees and home of various magical creatures, is standing while the other one is facing the west having its own pride also because of the one kilometer brown soil planted with different fruits and vegetables, each varies from anything in shape, color, size, smell and appearance. Its door is made with three big woods cutted into rectangular shapes then tied vertically together to form a useful door.

The birds headed to the west, to the magical jungle where any warrior wouldn't even try to look. As the birds chirping fade away, a very loud and soprano voice from the hut filled the peaceful place.A voice coming from a woman who is in her late thirties.

" Wake up my dear, wake up! "

Naiami gently slapped her husband in both faces.

" Come on dear! Get up! Now! " she shouted again.

Eremus still sleepy gets up while rubbing its eyes with both hands. He watches his wife as she combs her hair with her fingers, quietly dressing up then approaches the window to open it. He felt happiness as he watches his wife. She is his life. It's been fifteen years ago when he almost give up his life for her and it seems to be worth it because now they are a happy family. They are not a perfect family but they are happy because also of their one and only daughter Green. Eremus smiled with the thought not knowing that his wife is now looking at him.

" What are you still doing there , we have a lot of things to be done! Enough with your eternal sitting in that bed! "

Eremus, having no expression is still looking at his wife.

" And will you please stop looking and smiling at me like that! " Naiami said frowning.

Thin strands of sun rays entered through their window and started giving heat in their skin. The heat seemed to be electrifying in the body that made Eremus fully awaken.

" Good morning dear! What's your rush for? " he said, confused.

His wife having heard what he said frowned even more, went to their old cabinet silently and picked his favorite new clothes. She looked mysteriously again to him and throwed the clothes to his face.

" What's my rush for? Eremus, today is Green's birthday! I can't believe you forgot your one and only child's birthday! " she exclaimed angrily.

Eremus laughed while picking his clothes that fell in the floor.

" Oh sorry my dear. I forgot it. I got a lot of works in the garden yesterday you know. " he reasoned.

" Yeah right. It's always between you and your garden. " she answered back, inhaling deeply.

Eremus knows now that his wife is starting to feel of being offended. He knows almost everything in his wife especially her attitude. Naiami based on their two decades of togetherness, for all he knows is a very sensitive woman. She is sensual and a spiritual person. With all these traits added with her loving and caring nature, she is just as what Eremus believes the best wife and mother in the world.

" Look. Why not just relax and breathe my dear. We can do it all perfectly. I assure you that. " Eremus said with a softer voice, trying to calm his wife.

Naiami inhaled and tried to relax. This time looking at him like a caring mother.

" You don't undetstand. I want this special day to be perfect, Eremus. There is no room for any mistakes. Today is Green's tenth birthday. You know how important it is for an Orami family who have a child turning ten years old. That's why I want to give the best I can do to our daughter. I still have to clean and cook. That goat wouldn't be tender if I don't cook it for two hours! " she answered with a worried voice while looking outside their house through the window where a resting black goat was tied. " And my cake! This is the first time that I will do that cake! Oh! I hope it to be really sweet! " she exclaimed.
