"Marry me Nicky, I love you, you love me, let's make this commitment, so you know even when I'm gone that you're mine and I'm yours."
"But-but Jason, you're leaving tomorrow!" I stated in a soft voice, my own blue eyes starting in his brown ones.
He pulled me closer and gave me that crooked smile that I had fallen in love with right from the get go, four years ago. I still couldn't believe it, even to this day. I was a party hard eigth grader and he was a sophomore on the football team, and for some reason he took an interest in me. Now he was a graduate of two years from high school and I was to be a senior in high school, and starting tomorrow I wouldn't see him for a long, long time.
"Nicky please, I'm begging you. When I get back I will give you the best wedding ever, please pumpkin, you know I love you and would do anything for you." He pleaded desperately.
"Then don't go, don't leave."
"Nicky, you know I can't do that."
"I know..." I whispered under my breath as I felt tears begin to pool in my eyes. That's when Jason placed two fingers under my chin and lifted my face and kissed me sweetly and passionately. After a few moments he pulled away and rested his forehead on mine.
"You're killing me baby girl." He breathed.
"Yes..."
"What?"
"Yes, I'll marry you Jason." I whispered softly, and felt his arms wrap lovingly around my waist. I leaned into his chest and inhaled his spicey scent. "On one condition."
"What's that?"
"You come home...safe." I pulled away from him slightly to see his face, noticing that he hesitated.
"I- Nicky...you know I ca-" he stopped and sighed, before a genuine smile tugged as his lips. "I promise."

I watched him with tears threatening to pool over. I watched him and his parents pack the trunk of Jason's jeep with his luggage. He looked over at me with a sad smile and walked over to me, engulfing me in a comforting hug.
"I'll write you everyday." He whispered into my hair.
"Promise?"
"I promise, Nicky."
I pulled away from his arms and looked up at him with a sad smile. "I love you Jason."
"I love you too Nicky, I'll be home before you know it." With a final kiss he was off, his parents in the front seats driving, while Jason waved from the back seat, shouting his love for me out the window. I chased after the car, running desperately after the gray jeep, hoping it would stop and he would change his mind, but the vehicle kept on down the road, and all I heard was Jason's voice.
"I love you Nicky!"

"Jason!" I screamed sitting up in my bed, tears streaking down my face from the painful memory that taunted my dreams.
"Nick?! What's wrong honey?" A man's voice bombed, swinging the door open. His brown eyes were full of worry, and the redness of his eyes told me I woke him up.
"I'm okay daddy.." I sniffled and pulled my legs up to my chest. The man walked over to the bed and sat down, draping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me towards him. His brown hair was messy, but I felt secure in my father's arm.
"Nick? You okay dear?" A soft voice asked through the doorway, her blue eyes were filled with concern and comfort, and she held a mug of hot chocolate. My mother's brown hair was twisted into knots, but she didn't seem to care as she made her way towards me and handed me the mug.
I told my parents about my dream, knowing it was one of the last times I saw Jason, and it hurt most of all. After an hour of them comforting me, and they were sure I was okay, they shuffled out of my room and went back to their room.
The next few hours went by slowly as I was afraid to return to the dream, but when 6:00 rolled around I decided I had enough. I needed to get far away from California, maybe the dreams and pain would go away. He left during my spring break in March, it was now December. Eight months ago he left, and two months ago I turned eighteen, and knew he was never coming back.
I packed my bags, putting everything I could possibly own and take with me, and stuffed them in three bags and five boxes. I knew my parents would be up by 7:30 to make breakfast for my younger brother, Percy, and my younger sister, Ava, so I had to be quiet while taking two boxes at a time down to my turquoise Ford pickup truck. Placing all but one of the boxes in the box of the truck, and the suitcases and duffle bags in the passanger and backseat. Walking back to my room I scribbled a note on a pad of paper, explaining that I had to leave, to try and escape everything and made it clear that I loved them all very much and that I'd miss them, and with that I left. I got into my tuck, pulled the money I had been saving and inherited out of the bank and left California.
"I'm sorry Jason...I can't do this." I whispered to the picture of a blonde haired boy with brilliant brown eyes. "I need forget everything. I need a new start. I'm not the same girl anymore."

Hey, sorry if it's horrible, but I was inspired to write this based on a song, with my own little twist that is. Tell me what you think, and what you think might have happened to Jason. :)
