CHAPTER 7

" Aella do we have to go? Can't I just stay here and you go?" Braxton whined.

" Sure, I'll make new friends. But your gonna be bored. Well see you in a couple hours?" I tell him, making his eyes open wide" Wait by new friends, what do you mean? No men, no little boys too." Braxton says worried" Why not little boys? Also your not going so I mean whats wrong with that?" I said confused, whats wrong with little kids." They steal women's hearts. That's why I don't want a son, I mean they might look cute, but they are EVIL!!!" Braxton said, just making me laugh."Okay well I am going, so bye." I said walking away. I hear footsteps walking toward me and know that he is right behind me." Fine, i'll go, but food first."" Works for me!" I say, walking ahead away from him. I look back to see Braxton jogging up to me, holding my hand." Who said I wanna hold your hand?" I say, looking at Braxton." I did." He says, rubbing the top of my hand. I rolled my eyes, walking with him into the mall. As we walked past a couple of stores, we found the food court. Braxton began to smile," I am hungry for something else." he said whispering in my ear. I smiled, blushing at his cheesy comment." And what is that?" I asked looking up to him. "" Well it is quite rare, it smells a bit like the sea involves a mix of v-" I interrupted, laughing. " Okay okay I get it!" I walk up to the little Chipotle in the corner, ordering a burrito bowl. Braxton orders the same thing. As I go to hand the money to the lady, Braxton's hand takes my arm and passes her his card. She goes wide eyed, turning red as the minutes pass, swiping his card paying for the check. I look at his hand which clearly shows his tattoos and veins, then to Braxton." I could've p-" I say, but cut off" No." Braxton said a bit angered" Well thank you." I say a bit quite and he nods. What was wrong with me paying. Yes I am a girl and usually guys pay, but wouldn't he be more playful about it? I looked down to the ground, waiting for the women to be back with our order. I see the girl come back with both bowls, handing us forks and napkins. As she thanks us and helps the other customer, we find our seat. I sit across from Braxton, a little awkward to look him in the eyes just yet. As we eat, I choose to glance up at him. I look to see him already looking at me. His eyes were beautiful, it was me- you know what I am being creepy. I look back down to my food, but then Braxton's hand takes hold of my arm. But brings it back." I'm sorry I overreacted. I should've just let you do your thing, let you go on the shopping trip you wanted. I just joined and I shouldn't have taken control of the situation." Braxton said looking down, then up to look at my face expression." Its okay, I didn't mind you paying. I just didn't know why you got so mad over it." I say looking up at him now. God I have known him for what three days and I can't get enough." Oh I wasn't mad." He said, damn he is dry!" Okay? Well I am pretty full, so if you are ready to go I am." I said calmly. How the fuck was he not mad, his veins were popping, I laughed a bit in my head for that." I am ready now," he said grabbing both of our bowls, throwing them away. After he was done, we walked through the alley of stores.After going to Hollister and American Eagle, I had some new jeans and tee shirts. Braxton had let me pay for the shirts, but he paid for the jeans. Which wasn't really split even, but he isn't really easy to convince. As we walked, I spotted Barnes and Noble, I took Braxton's hand in mine, leading him that way." OH Hell no!" Braxton said shaking his head" Why not?!" I asked, this was one of my favorite places in the whole mall" Cause I know that we will have to spend hours flipping pages till you find the "perfect book,"" He said imitating my voice." Well you can stand out here then. But I am going in." I said, letting go of his hand walking in. As I walked in, I could see the aisles of books in front of me. Autumn would have only came in for the CD's. She still uses a record player once in a while, so she collects them while she can. I look over at the entrance to see Braxton looking at me, walking over shaking his head. I laugh, knowing better that he couldn't stay out there for long without getting bored. As he comes to my side, he reaches for my hand." How did I get stuck in Barnes and Noble ? I had a streak of never entering this building. " He said with such honor, yet that was just sad!" Yeah not sure, your fault. You had the chance to stay out." I say, walking over to the sign that says From the Pages to the Films. I looked to see a variety of books, picking up a book called Me Before You, with a little bee buzzing on the front. I also headed toward the manga which I know is bad, cause I buy way to much of them." What time is it?" Braxton said, bored of out his mind." It is 5:10" I say, looking at Braxton who has the most surprised face I have seen in a while." Yeah time goes by fast when you shop. After this we could head out." I say laughing" Finally!" He says, like hes dreaded every moment, thanks Braxton very nice I think to myself.As I bought a few more new series in manga and a couple romances, I check out. I have Barnes and Noble gift cards from the past years, so I never really use my real earned money on books. Once I finished paying, Braxton grabbed my hand, leading me to the car before I had the chance to go in any other store. He was actually smart this time, going back the same way we came." Why didn't you go that way, it was probably shorter." I say, smiling." I might be a bit dumb at times, but I know that we will spend a couple more hours if we go that way." Braxton says with a smile. As we exit the mall, I start getting my keys out. Pressing the unlock button to see where it is." Aella really? Just press this." Braxton says taking the keys from me, pressing the alarm. I immediately grab the keys from him, pressing the button again to stop it. Well at least I know where my car is." Really Braxton!" I say, walking toward the car." Yeah I usually just remember where it is." Braxton said grinning at me." So where to next?" I ask, smiling knowing that he would hate to go anywhere now that I made him shop with me for hours." Oh Aella, you know there is this one place that people go to after going somewhere called a home. Do you know that term? Cause you are never home." He said sarcastically." Yes I know what a home is, do you want me to drop you off?" I ask. I wasn't sure if he would still like to hang out, I only had one more day till I go back to the prison." Are you coming home with me?" He asked." If you want me too." I said." No fucking shit I want you too, now am I driving or?" Braxton said laughing." Sure you can drive, just don't hurt my car." I say, looking over to Braxton with his head tilted." Haha, very funny Aella." He said getting into the front seat. As we drove our of the parking lot, I looked at Braxton to see him sitting straight forward looking at the road. I placed my hand on his thigh, making him jump a little and said, " How do you sit up so straight." he looked at me and smiled." Its called having good posture. Have you heard of it?" Braxton said teasing. I moved my hand from his leg, but instead Braxton reached for my hand, weaving his fingers into mine. I looked at him, seeing his eyes already on mine." Yeah I have heard the term. I am just a bit behind on the concept."" Yeah I can tell." He said teasing me. I shook my head at the comment, looking out my window." Aella, you look beautiful today." he said randomly." Umm thanks?" I said. That was really random. How does posture turn into compliment." Its a compliment so your welcome." Braxton says, kissing the top of my hand. The rest of the drive home, I held his hand listening to the radio.Ok I know in your head or outside of it ( mostly my friend) is wondering/asking me when I would post and I have said multiple times No clue. I have been so busy lately with school, Covid, holidays coming up. It was kinda hard to write when I was busy with so much. But I will try posting as fast as I can.
