"Hey kid, didn't you read the sign?" I bellowed out into the empty indoor pool to hear my douche-like tone get echoed back to me. A small brown frame was floating out on the deep end. Her curly head turned to face me and the large sign that warned for kids not to swim without adult supervision.
"I'm not a kid," she remarked. She was actually kind of cute. A mess of copper brown curls drenched in chlorine fell over her high cheekbones. She looked amused at my mistake.
"Well, didn't you read the other sign?" I tried again gesturing underneath the exact same one, only this one reminded that adults should not swim alone.
"That's fine. Considering that I can't swim," she said playfully and she allowed the cerulean glow of water to swallow her. I don't know why I let her get to me but before I knew it my shoes and socks were off and I was yanking my hotel employee shirt from over my head. I darted into the water after her only to watch her gracefully float back to the top, amused with me again.
"Wow, they pay you enough to be a pool boy and lifeguard?" she teased.
"Neither, really. Just came to restock the towels."
"So, you're the towel boy," she said.
"No. Just couldn't let you swim alone," I flirted, reaching for the pool ladder.
"Wait," she called after me, "so you took off your shoes, socks and your shirt. Why'd you leave your pants?"
"You're not getting my pants off that easy," I stopped at the top of the ladder, "what kind of guy you take me for." I teased. The truth being there were extra khakis in my locker but I only had one employee shirt and socks.

"Maybe you're the kind that'd like to meet me at the bar later tonight. I could buy you a drink to make up for the wet pants," she said with a smirk. Why did her beautiful face have to be so smug?

"The bar will be closed before my shift ends, " I didn't want to decline her offer but it was true.

"Well can I see you tomorrow?"
"I don't know, can you?" It sounded cool in my head but came out sarcastic and dry as most things did with me.

"Is that another jab at my age?" she asked. "I can show you my ID if you'd like," she teased as she rose from the pool. The fluorescent lights clung to her smooth brown skin, perfectly highlighting her athletic frame amongst other things. Definitely not a kid, I noted.
"No, no I'll be there. I mean here. I'll be here." I said, stumbling into my shoes.
"At the bar?" she said, throwing my shirt at me.

"At the bar." I confirmed.
