As soon as the boys set off Louis pulled out a sort of flask from his back pocket. "What the hell is that?" Liam asked.

"Chill out, it's pre-drinks everyone does it".

"Difference is Lou you're not just 'everyone' you take it to far, you can't control it... no one in our family could" he trailed off as Louis held up his hand.

"Enough".

The two brothers walked in silence the rest of the way to their friends. Louis occasionally sipping the vodka he'd taken from his parents cupboard. Liam glanced over each time feeling his chest tighten.

By the time they got there Louis was already feeling a bit tipsy and the two boys went their separate ways. Liam to the living room where is girlfriend and some of his other friends were and Louis to the kitchen to join the football boys and netball girls who were playing drinking games.

"You okay babe?" Liam's girlfriend, Alice, asked as he sat down next to her.

"Just Louis" he sighed.

"What's happened now?" She asked concerned.

"He's on the vodka already" he sighed.

"Ah Liam lighten up man" one of his friends, Ben, called out.

"Yeah Ben's been on the spirits since before 7" Beth called out. Liam forced a smile and looked down, they didn't understand that with his family it was different, it always would be. Alice was the only one who fully knew the extent of Liam's biological parents difficulties so she subtly held his hand and squeezed it, "it will be fine, I promise" she told him.

Meanwhile in the kitchen Louis and his friends had already finished a round of the drinking game they were playing. Louis had finished all of the vodka and was now drinking a questionable drink his mate had mixed him. Already his was starting to slur slightly but he was also feeling good. Lighter and more carefree, he loved the way drinking made his feel and to him it was fun.

Just over an hour later Liam went to go and get a drink of water. He cringed to himself when he saw how sloppy his twin was, he was struggling to hold a conversation and even stand up straight. Once he got his water he put his hand on Louis' shoulder, "woah Liammmm, w-w'r...you bbbbeen?" He asked wrapping his arm around his shoulder and bringing him close.

"Just next door mate. Are you okay?" He asked quietly not wanting to cause a scene.

"I'm goooood" he said. Liam nodded, pursing his lips together. "You May want to slow down, we need to leave in a couple of hours and I can't take you home like this".

"Sh'up... Liammmm, I'm f'ne" he said shoving him away and rejoining his friends. Liam sighed and went back through to his group of friends.

Liam was dancing with Alice when someone pulled him away. "Louis needs you" one of the girls from Louis' friendship group said. Liam went into serious mode and followed the girl out to the garden where his brother was slumped against the wall of the house. Some of his friends were trying to talk to him but even though his eyes were open he was unresponsive.

Liam kneeled down in front of his brother, "Louis" he said firmly placing his hands either side of his face so he had to look at him. However, Louis' eyes weren't focussing and kept rolling backwards. "Louis" Liam said a bit more loudly, "we need to go".

"G-gggg...gooo" Louis slurred. Liam nodded before some of Louis' football friends helped stand him up. It took Liam and two of Louis' friends to get him out the front door before they went back inside and left the twins in the front garden. "G-g-gg...go" Louis slurred leaning against Liam, his eyes half shut. Liam just nodded trying to compose himself, seeing his brother like this bought back lots of bad memories.

Liam started to half drag Louis down the road before he stopped and made a gurgling noise. "Lou" Liam said firmly, trying to keep him moving but before he could do anything else Louis gagged and spewed the pasta from before out on to the pavement. He then groaned before dribbling out more bile and stomach contents. "Louis-" Liam said again, but he was cut off by his twin falling forwards, face first, hitting the concrete below them.
