Whitaker is a teenage boy with the mind of a genius and a personality of a bitter old man. He doesn't really enjoy the company of people and often takes many leaps in order to push them away, even if they're nice to him. But also simultaneously he's filled with the compulsive need to prove his own worth to them, creating a toxic cycle of bitterness and self-hatred. His bitterness accompanied with a cold and indifferent tone is mainly the side people really see of him, a bitter boy who is too smart for his own good.
Though like many other people, this is only one chapter of the personality of Whitaker. An overlooked part of him is that when alone, he's loud in a silent way, if that makes sense (it probably doesn't). No one part of his body is still, if his feet aren't tapping, his hands are twiddling with something, you get the point. Many times he seems like a balloon filled with air, ready to pop at any moment.
But, the real core of Whitaker is that underneath any bitterness, jadedness, and indifference is a boy, a boy who's passionate about what he loves, a boy who cares about the people who get through to him. He's sad, he's lonely, and he's hesitant to be anything else.

Smart Whitaker is as smart as smart gets. He knows a variety of subjects and is perfectly able to go to any sort of school he wants to go to after high school. Beyond that, he's also a good resource to ask about anything really, though he'd be annoyed by someone bothering him.
