(Y/N) sighs as she turns in her test. That was much easier than I thought it'd be. She looks around the class and her eyes land on the desk next to her, or rather, the boy sitting there. Is he... falling asleep during a test? Indeed, Suna's eyes were closed, his test almost completely untouched. She glances at Osamu, but he looked too indulged in his own work to help his friend.
When their teacher isn't paying attention, (Y/N) reaches over and shakes the boy's arm. Shit, it's not working. Remembering her first day here, she hesitantly grabs ahold of his hair and tugs gently. The boy doesn't stir. Wincing, (Y/N) pulls harder, slightly knocking his head on the desk. Suna groggily wakes up and (Y/N) points to the paper on his desk, mouthing "test." The boy's eyes widen before they focus on the uncompleted work in front of him. (Y/N) retracts her arm and watches as the boy exhaustedly resumes.
"Hey, um... thanks."
(Y/N) looks down at Suna, who is still sitting on his desk. It was lunchtime. (Y/N) had just stood up from her desk, on her way to meet up with Imura and Omumi.
——————————————————
The hyper red-head had practically jumped on her the day before, asking where she'd been the whole day. Omumi almost died upon hearing (Y/N) had spent lunch with the volleyball team. She had also promised (Y/N) that they loved her company, inviting her to spend lunch with her and Imura once again. "After tomorrow, you're free to hang out with your volleyball boys!" she had teased, attempting to wiggle her eyebrows. "My volleyball boys? I was just studying with them!" (Y/N) laughed it off. Nonetheless, she was glad to have made such great friends.
——————————————————
"Your welcome," she smiles, "Did you enjoy your beauty sleep?"
Suna deadpans, "I take back my thanks."
"Lighten up, Suna! This is the first time you thanked me, I'm pretty sure! I'm quite honored, really."
"Yeah, well, I guess it's usually the other way around because you're so short."
(Y/N) puts a hand to her chest and feigns great offense. "Ouch."
"(Y/N)-san, are you going to eat lunch with us again?" Osamu approaches the two.
"Nope, not today. Actually, I should go now," (Y/N) grabs her stuff and salutes with two fingers, "ja ne!" She leaves class to see the two girls waiting for her already.
"Ahmya-chan! Riko-chan!"
"(N/N)-channn!" Omumi yells, while presenting (Y/N) with a carton of strawberry milk, "Here, I got this for you!"
(Y/N) squeals in delight and grips her friends shoulders, "Oi Omumi, I love you."
While the two loud girls ramble about on their way to the cafeteria, Imura speaks, "(Y/N), I packed extra in my bento for you. You should eat."
(Y/N)'s eyes widen. "We just met like, what, three days go? I really don't deserve you guys."
(Y/N) continues to gush about how amazing the girls are. She is completely unaware of the boys behind her.
But Imura is.
She recognizes Osamu and Suna, the volleyball players from (Y/N)'s class. But there was a third.
And he was staring at (Y/N).

Aoki Kuragari was average, to say the least.
He didn't stand out too much, nor was he "a loner." No, he was just an exceedingly average kid. He had good looks, okay grades, and a supple amount of friends.
So when (L/N) (Y/N) was placed in his class, he was obviously intrigued. She was foreign, pretty, kind, and basically everything a boy could hope for.
They had first interacted on (Y/N)'s second day at Inarizaki.
(Y/N) was walking in the hallways when she noticed a boy from her class.
"Good morning! You're in class 2-1, aren't you?" she introduced herself, outgoing as ever.
Aoki just nodded, suddenly finding himself in a state of shock. Was she really talking to him?
"(L/N)-san, right?" God, he hated how squeaky his voice sounded just now.
"Yep! But please, call me (Y/N)! Are you going to class? Let's go together!" How can she so easily talk to a stranger?, he thought as he followed the girl nonetheless.
"So what's your name?" she had asked.
"A-Aoki! Erm, Aoki Kuragari."
They made small talk the entire way. By the time the two reached their classroom, Aoki felt like he had known (Y/N) for a lot more than just one day.
Over the days, the boy found himself thinking about (Y/N). Was he having a crush? They hadn't spoken at all since that morning. But when they made eye-contact —which might or might not have been a result of him staring, and her noticing— she smiled at him. Smiled. And anyone who knew (Y/N) would say her smile was one of the most captivating things about her.
When he told his friends about his possible crush, they'd replied with:
"C'mon, everyone has a crush on (Y/N)-chan!"
"She's hot.
"It's not just you."
But Aoki didn't think they understood. It wasn't only her outer appearance.
She was just so bright.
But as they weren't at that level of closeness yet, he stuck to admiring her from afar. Aoki was okay with that.
——————————————————
Aoki was walking to the cafeteria and (Y/N) just happened to be in front of him with her friends. She was laughing like usual, sipping on some strawberry milk. He couldn't help but stare at her.
Next to him were two other boys from class 2-1. Miya-san and Suna-san from the volleyball team. He felt the tiniest bit insignificant next to them; they were tall, popular, handsome, and even he could feel the stares of love-struck girls boring holes into their backs.
But they didn't matter at the moment. (Y/N) did. He focused on her smile and her animated movements. This extreme focus was what kept him from being discreet about staring, and what caused the others to notice.
Suna and Osamu happened to walk behind (Y/N) because they had the same destination, nothing more, nothing less. The boys kept their distance, for the most part unconcerned with (Y/N) and her friends. That red-head is extremely loud, thought Suna. But he saw (Y/N) talking and laughing just as much with her, and that was just enough to halt his thoughts. She has a nice smile...
He glanced over to the side when something bumped into his shoulder. Or rather, someone.
"Oh! Sorry!" the boy apologized. Suna didn't bother to say anything back, he simply nodded. That's when he first noticed that he was staring at her. (Y/N). Quite intensely, and with... fascination, respect? There wasn't quite a word to describe that look.
It wasn't Suna's place to do anything about it. He had only known (Y/N) for a few days after all.
But he was definitely a bit curious.
