365 Days With Kongart

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Every morning when Arthit wakes up to the world the first thought to cross his mind is almost always about Kongpob, his boyfriend. His thoughts vary between a lot of things but it's mostly his absence that he notices first. That kongpob's not there to hold him and whisper a quiet good morning (in his bed voice) with a sweet smile adorning his handsome face. That he's not there to serve him breakfast with a eager look on his face waiting for Arthit to compliment his cooking. And that thought alone is enough to wake him up to consciousness but it also makes him want to hide under the covers and back to sleep so that he doesn't have to think about the opposite side of his bed, which is all tidy and..empty. His chest hurts and he feels like crying. He's never gotten used to the feeling of waking up alone in his bed and missing that one person so much that it hurts.

Just then, a sturdy arm makes its way around his waist and he feels a warm breath fanning his ear, which gradually turns a shade of pink.

"P'Arthit? Why are you up so early? There's still some time left before you have to wake up."

He feels soft lips pressing onto his nape and suddenly the ugly, uncertain feeling in his chest is replaced with warmth and contentment. It feels like christmas morning and Arthit decides he likes the feeling. He turns around and nestles comfortably onto Kongpob's chest, lips upturned into a small smile. His head finds the texture a bit bony for his liking but it feels cosy and welcoming and he feels all sorts of happy.

"Go back to sleep, Kong."

A pair of arms surround him and he feels his boyfriend fondly brushing his nose into his hair and a pair of lips ghosting his head (he's sure his boyfriend is grinning like a fool) and Arthit, after he's done stroking his thumb against the ring on his finger more than he normally should, snuggles impossibly onto the other's body and tries to go back to sleep with his fiance (of one day now!) with a satisfied smile and a full heart.
