Chapter 16: Decision and Date
Taehyung was buzzing with excitement as he prepared for his second date with Jungkook. He made sure to look presentable, his outfit crisp and clean. Still, a twinge of worry gnawed at him. The omega land lacked the grandeur of the Alpha land—no fancy restaurants or towering buildings. Would Jungkook still enjoy their date?
"Leader Kim, Alpha Jeon is outside our land now," the butler announced, breaking Taehyung's train of thought.
Taehyung's heart skipped a beat, a blush creeping onto his cheeks. "Please lead him to our date place," he instructed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
The butler bowed and went to fetch Jungkook while Taehyung made his way to the park where they had planned to meet.
As Jungkook arrived at the park, his gaze fell on Taehyung. The omega was a vision in an all-white outfit, looking both glamorous and angelic. It was as if he was made for Jungkook.
"Alpha," Taehyung smiled warmly, stepping forward to greet him.
"It's nice to see you again, Leader Kim," Jungkook smiled back, taking Taehyung's right hand.
He leaned down to peck the back of Taehyung's hand and then brushed his fingers against the omega's ring finger, where he envisioned placing a more permanent ring someday.
"I'm sorry, Alpha, if this is the only place I can afford for our date. This is the usual spot for two partners," Taehyung said shyly, glancing around.
The park's charm lay in its serene heart-shaped pond and the gentle whispers of the trees surrounding them.
"It's okay, as long as we're alone," Jungkook replied, his gaze locked on Taehyung.
"I can't promise you that. You know Jimin hyung; he's strict," Taehyung giggled.
"That Alpha Rogue again," Jungkook sighed, rolling his eyes playfully.
"But I promise he won't bother us," Taehyung added, his smile reassuring.
"That's good to hear, but have you thought about the deal I mentioned?" Jungkook inquired, his voice turning serious.
"I'm still thinking about it, Alpha. I need to ensure that my pack will benefit and be safe if I agree," Taehyung replied, his expression contemplative.
"I'm not going to force you, but it's better to decide quickly. I'm concerned for your safety," Jungkook said earnestly.
"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked, puzzled.
"I'm far from you, and that leader of the betas is attacking your land. My priority is to protect you. Until there's unity between our lands, it's difficult for me to balance going back and forth. I made that deal not just for your pack, but because I genuinely care about you," Jungkook explained, his eyes sincere.
"I understand, Alpha, and I appreciate your concern for me. Just give me some time to think about it. I promise I won't take too long," Taehyung replied, squeezing Jungkook's hand.
"If that's what you want, I will agree," Jungkook said, his expression softening.
"Thank you, Alpha," Taehyung smiled, hugging him tightly.
Their second date went smoothly, with Jimin keeping a watchful eye on the baby and allowing Taehyung and Jungkook some much-needed privacy. As they strolled near the park's entrance, Jungkook had to leave to return to his land.
"Thank you for today, Alpha. I hope you enjoyed our date," Taehyung said, standing in front of Jungkook.
"I did. I hope we can continue our date soon," Jungkook replied, his gaze lingering on Taehyung.
"I hope so," Taehyung giggled, his heart fluttering.
"I'm going now. Have a good night, Leader Kim."
Instead of a kiss on the back of Taehyung's hand, Jungkook surprised him by pecking him on the cheek, dangerously close to his lips. Taehyung's eyes widened in shock, leaving him momentarily speechless.
"See you again, omega," Jungkook winked before turning to leave the omega land, blissfully unaware of the flustered state he left Taehyung in.
Taehyung slowly cupped his cheeks, feeling the heat rush to them. He bit his bottom lip to suppress a squeal, overwhelmed with emotion.
"Leader Kim, we should go back to your place; Mr. Park is waiting for you," his butler reminded him, standing patiently behind him.
Snapping back to reality, Taehyung cleared his throat. "Right, let's go," he replied, his tone suddenly deep, sending a shiver down his butler's spine.
As he walked away, Taehyung didn't notice his butler's stunned expression.
"You took so long to come back, Taehyung," Jimin said as Taehyung entered his room.
"I'm sorry, hyung; I just had so much fun," Taehyung responded, stepping inside.
Jimin, holding the baby while rocking it gently, shot Taehyung a glare that was half annoyance, half concern. "Sure you did."
"So, hyung, I already made a decision," Taehyung said, fidgeting with his fingers nervously.
"What do you mean?" Jimin asked, his interest piqued.
"I will accept Alpha Jeon's offer. I think it will help my pack learn more about the other pack. I want them to improve, and I believe the Alpha land is a great place for my pack to explore," Taehyung stated, finally feeling confident in his choice.
"Are you sure about that?" Jimin inquired, a hint of concern in his voice.
"Yes, I want to take that advantage. I don’t want to lose this opportunity," Taehyung replied, conviction in his tone.
"If that's what you want, then do it. You're a leader for a reason. But remember, you still have time to think carefully, Taehyung. You don’t fully know him; don’t let his so-called kindness fool you. I don’t want you to blame yourself after making that decision," Jimin advised, patting Taehyung’s shoulder before leaving the room.
As Jimin exited, Taehyung felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. He was a smart leader, but he wanted to consider Jimin's thoughts. Jimin had more experience in the world outside their land, while Taehyung had only a limited understanding. His heart raced as he contemplated his choices, eager yet hesitant to embrace the future that lay ahead.
