MISSING:
JESSICA KOOLEDGE
AGE: 25
LIGHT BLONDE HAIR THAT REACHES TO HER SHOULDERS, 5' 7'', A TIGER TATTOO ON HER LEFT SHOULDER. IF ANY ONE KNOWS ANYTHING RELATED TO HER DISAPPEARANCE, PLEASE CONTACT THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY.Below the girls description, was a picture of the girl, just like the picture described. Detective Cody and I examined the wanted poster with great interest. Not hours ago were we asked to solve this case, the case of the repeating kidnappings here in the small town of Argyle, New York. Here in Argyle, everyone knew everybody. But that seemed to be the disadvantage here because it seemed no one wanted to be the first one to talk.
Cody and I were just on our way for a cup of coffee before we went into the office to do more research, when we found this poster. The latest kidnap. We both gave a silent agreement to one another and abandoned our coffee and headed into the office. It just so happened that our favorite fella was there. John Cane. He was a recluse, a man who was never up to any good. The only reason he ever left his safe haven was when he was up to somethin'.
"What are you doing here Cane?" I asked. "Finally paying those bills? I heared you were due to get shut off."
Cane was standing outside the police station, holding the door open. He was wearing a stained white tank top with dirty blue jeans on and a baseball cap. A slight beard was forming on his face, like he hasn't saved in weeks. He also reeked. Like he also has not taken a shower for months.
"They can't shut me off!" He shouted. "I came here to make sure they don't! If my water gets shut off, I'll make sure you all regret it!"
"What do you need water for anyways? Cause I know it isnt to take a shower," Exclaimed Cody as John angrily stomped away and drove off in his sorry excuse for a car.
I laughed at his comment and walked inside the building.

"Smith!" A big man with a mustache wearing a hat and coat came up to my desk with a troublesome look on his face. There was only one thing that could have caused that look.
"Another one?" I asked.
He nodded and I followed him out the door and into his office. A t.v hung from the wall turned onto the news channel. It only confirmed my thoughts. A lady was talking into a microphone in the streets of Argyle.
"The kidnapper has struck again in the small town of Argyle. Citizens have been told to stay indoors after dark and only walk with a companion. Five other people have already gone missing, and another recently today. Investigators say they are still looking for possible suspects, but they are believed to still be in the area. More information on this catastrophic to come soon."
Thompson shut off the t.v and looked at me with a scowl on his face. "I want you to find whoever this guy is soon. It's getting it of hand. I'm being threatend off of this case if this skumbag isn't caught by Friday. That gives you five days. It's up to up Smith."
***
I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. But this case was my chance to be promoted, maybe even get a raise. I already had a lead, a warrant to search John Cane's house, and some evidence from the previous crimes. There was no dought in my mind that it was him.
Cody and I walked up the rickety stairs and knocked on his old green door. We waited for a while before a woman answered it.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm detective Smith and this is Detective Cody. Is John Cane here?"
She shook her head. "Haven't you heared?" She snipped at them. "He was kidnapped earlier today! Shouldn't you detectives know that?" Then she slammed the door shut in their faces.
Kidnapped? I was so sure it was him. I give Cody a look of confusion; he shrugs and skips down the steps.
"We really had no real leads anyways," he told me. "We just hated him so much, we were blind too blind to see that. But no worries my friend, I know just where to go."
***
It was late at night and I was still on duty. Cody and I sat in a car, looking out into the streets. In front of us stood an 'innocent victim.'
"Are you sure that someone would attack her right after Cane was kidnapped just earlier today?" I wasn't too in to this plan of his.
"Trust me. You don't expect it, and that is exactly what this perp is: unpredictable. Besides, I noticed a pattern in the kidnappings. Every two week, two people were kidnapped. And on the same day; one in the morning and one late at night. I just hope this guy stays to his pattern."
So I waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing happend. It was starting to look suspicious of why this person was just standing in the middle of the open. That was why nothing happend. This kidnapper knew this was a set up and was probably miles away from here. After an hour more of waiting, I decided to give this stake out up.
"Nothings happening. The sun is almost up, come on let's get out of here."
Cody sighed and rolled down his window. "Okay, Kami! Stake out's over!"
Kami turned around and her hood fell off of her head. But it wasn't Kami. It was someone who looked very familiar. She had light blonde hair that reached to her shoulders, about 5'7'', and a tiger tattoo was printed on her left shoulder. Most shockingly of all, she wore an evil smile on her face.
"Cody! That's the missing girl from that missing poster! Jessica Kooledge!" I turned towards him to see him smiling as the girl, Jessica got closer.
"Yes, yes it is." I gave him a look and noticed that the car doors were locked. The girl was slowly making her way over. "I belive you found your killer."
