Chapter 7: The new friendship?

4  months later...

Bette and Amy are still working together.
They are doing great at work. They are having fun again and make great deals for the CAC.

Bette and Amy both moved on with their lives.
Amy met a new girl named Marci. Marci is really great and a really loving caring person, but Amy was still missing something.
Marci is just not Bette. Amy always kept that in mind and she knew it is not fair, but she can´t help it.

Bette and Amy never talked about what happend that night. Amy tried multiple times, but everytime she started about it, Bette said:
´Stop it Amy. It is in the past, plus it is too hurtful.´

Amy´s phone is ringing and it was Mama A; ´Hi Pumpkin, we need to talk.´
´Right now on the phone? Because I am a little busy...´ Amy said to her Mama A: ´No I will pick you up for lunch at 1, if that is okay with you´
Amy answered with okay and hung up the phone. ´Who was it? You seem a little confused´ Bette asked.
´It was Mama A, she want to talk to me and it seems urgent. Probably to gossip or something´ Amy laughed
´Yeah she has a big mouth sometimes´ Bette laughed too
´Sometimes?´ Amy and Bette said at the same time; ´All the time´ as they laughed harder.
´I love this´ Amy said with a smile on her face
´What?´ Bette asked also with a smile.
´This, us. Just being okay.´ Amy blushed a little and Bette too; ´Yes, we are and I love this too´
Amy looked at her phone for the time and took her bag; ´I need to go. Mama A is picking me up in 5 minutes for lunch. See you later´
´Yeah see you later! Have fun with gossip´ Bette yelled after Amy giggeling
´Thanks´ Amy yelled laughing

Mama A was already waiting for Amy in her car as Amy stepped in and kissed her cheek; ´Hi Mama, you sounded urgent on the phone, what the hell is going on?´
´I will tell you at lunch okay?´ Mama A sounded a little nervous.
´Okay. How are you btw?´ Amy smiled at her Mama; ´Yeah I´m fine, but now I need to drive, because someone is waiting for us´
Amy looked confused as her Mama A drove to Dana´s; ´Who?´
´You will see who it is when we get there.´ Mama A said more nervous
´Okay... You are very mysterious Mama...´ Amy rolled her eyes.

They had lunch at Dana´s. When they walked inside, Amy already saw who it was and wasn´t happy about it.
´Mama, are you fucking kidding me? I am not going to have lunch with her. I´m leaving´Amy already wanted to turn around.
´No, No, she has something important to tell you, come on´ Mama A begged her
´Must be bullshit. I don´t like this..´ Amy looked mad.
´Your Mama is right, there is something I need to tell you. I am going to talk to Bette tonight´ Helena admitted
´Why? I don´t get it..´ Amy asked confused and still mad.
´She needs to know the truth about that night. I am so sorry that I did that. Our friendship is ruined about what I did and also your relationship with Bette´ Helena looked down
´Wow.... after 4 months you realized it.. bold move´ Amy said sarcastic
´Don´t be so sarcastic.. I feel bad enough´ Helena was still looking down.
´You feel bad enough? Don´t get me wrong, but you totally need to feel that. You have been one of the biggest assholes I have ever met in my life. Good luck with talking to Bette. At the moment Bette and I are having a real good friendship. Don´t ruin it twice for me. Mama, can you bring me back to work, now´ Amy turned away from Helena and walked outside.
Mama A nodded; ´Bye Helena´. Mama A drove Amy back to the CAC

´What a waste of time, Mama´ Amy said still mad
´Why? This could change everything between Bette and you´ Mama A said smiling
´But I don´t want that.. Everyhting is going so well between Bette and me, we are really building a friendship and I got Marci now.. I am moving on with my life´  Amy admitted and looked down.
´What if Bette wants you back? After what Helena is going to say tonight? What would you do? Mama A asked.
´I think I would...´ Amy was looking down still
´You would lose Marci in a second´ Mama A said seriously
´Mama!´ Amy looked at her as she yelled.
´But it is! You would totally go for it.´Mama A looked at Amy.
Amy was thinking about it and she knew the answer right a head; ´Yes.. I would´
´So...´ Mama A said
´It is not fair against Marci... Marci is great, but she isn´t Bette and I know I can´t compare Marci with Bette, because she is so different, but yeah.. I would lose her in a second for Bette.´ Amy admitted.
´Hopefully Helena chooses the right words and Bette believes her.´ Mama A stroked Amy´s back
´That´s the thing. Is she going to believe Helena? Maybe this is going to ruin everything, but I want her back so badly´ Amy had tears falling down her face.
Mama A parked her car in front of the CAC; ´I know, sweetie... Do I see you tonight?
Amy nodded; ´Yeah and I bring Marci over for dinner, okay?´
´Yeah that´s fine by me. See you girls around 7. Bye´ Mama A said as Amy stepped out of the car and walked inside the CAC.

Amy walked inside for the meeting with the on none artist. Amy thought her worst nightmare came through.
He was there.. and Amy must totally knew it, but she was stupid not seeing it. It was Nick.. that man she hated so much, but could her also feel so small and afraid at the same time.

´Amy, may I introduce you to Nick van Doorn. The artist from the new paintings. Nick, Amy Williams-Pieszecki´ CO Adams said.
´Hi Amy Williams´ Amy shaked his hand as he said; ´Nick van Doorn´
´Could you excuse me for a minute?´ Amy asked at CO Adams; ´Yeah, sure, but don´t take it too long´
´No, I will be back ASAP´ Amy smiled and literally ran away as Bette saw it and ran after her.
And there Amy was, hyperventilating over that asshole as she felt a hand on her back.
´What´s going on?´ It was Bette
´It is him´ Amy looked with tears in her eyes at Bette; ´You mean him? Nick, your ex from The Netherlands?' Bette looked worried now.
Amy nodded.
´Okay, he is not going to show his art here, we will tell Adams about it and..´ Bette took Amy´s hand
´No, we don´t... I need to face him, for my own strength´ Amy cried now
´Look at you! You are a mess and don´t want that for you everytime we meet him´ Bette looked at Amy worried
´I need to do it.. I need to face him... otherwise this feeling will never go away´ Amy was still crying
´Come here´ Bette pulled Amy closer and hugged her for awhile. When it ended they faced each other and they wanted to kiss each other so badly
´We should go back´ Amy was still looking at Bette with so much love in her eyes; ´Yeah, we should´ Bette smiled
´So you went back to women?´ Nick looked at both
´What is that supposed to mean?´ Amy looked confused at him
´Just saying´ Nick laughed
´Listen very good, you and I need to work together, You are the biggest fucker I´ve ever met in my life and I need to deal with it. So don´t get me a hard time in this and let´s be professional... okay?´ Amy asked strong.
´Yeah fine by me´ Nick rolled his eyes.
´Good, shall we?´'Amy stretched her arm out and Nick walked forward. Bette smiled at Amy and Amy felt how proud Bette was of her.

Amy had this feeling that the meeting would never ended. Nick kept talking for like hours. Bette and Amy closed the deal and within 8 months his paintings and sculpture will be there at CAC. Bette and Amy were happy that they close the deal, but not happy with Nick.
´I got a text message from Helena.. she wants to talk to me?´ Bette said surprised.
´Oh really? About?´ Amy pretend to know nothinh from it.
´That night...´ Bette sighed
´Well you could listen to what she has to say? It doesn´t change anythinh between us right?´ Amy smiled and Bette nodded; ´Yeah you are right. I could listen to her..´
´Well good luck tonight and don´t gossip too much about me´ Amy giggled and hugged Bette; ´I won´t, see you monday! Have a nice weekend´ Bette yelled after Amy as she sighed; ´She is so amazing.. and that body damn.. stop it Porter´ Bette said to herself
