“Welcome to the fallout, welcome to resistance. The tension is here, the tension is here. Between who you are and who you could be, between how it is and how it should be, yeah! Maybe redemption has stories to tell, maybe forgiveness is right where you fell. Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go? Salvation is here! I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor. I dare you to move, I dare you to move; Like today never happened before.”

That song, Dare You To Move, does exactly what Jon Foreman, the songwriter, intended it to do. It brings hope for a better future, and shows us that we need to work for that future. We are in between destinies- and we need to decide where we’ll end up. And we need to move to get there. And we do move. We hear him.

I have been in rough periods of my life, and this song always changes me. No matter how many times I hear it, it heals me. I get the familiar rush of hope. Because Dare You To Move was written to give hope to listeners.

And thank God, it does.
