Here I lay with a hot summer breath
But when I wake up I'll be cold as death
Through the window out the door
Lies a place with nothing more

Everyone is frightened from the raining chaos
So much so that Sun doesn't dare shine
And the rain is pouring causing floods and hurricanes
Yet we sit and do nothing only wait

We wait for the leaves to fall from the trees
We wait for each other to bring peace
We wait for the government to make a change
And yet we do nothing but flee

Flee from hard times
Flee from grace
We flee from fires and yelling
Hoping no one will see our face

We allow each other to run
To get away from what we know
Yet look around the world is different
And wounds starting to show

Look at the world we are leaving out kids
Look at the nightmare in the abyss
You see the destruction that needs to be fixed
But no one heard it

They tremble at the sound and run for the hills
They hope and pray the future will still
But the time of waiting is over
It is time for us to reconsider

To reconsider the choices we've made

And redefine who we are today

If no will stand up and say

Our world will be left astray
