Isabella POV
School wasn't my cup of tea. I hated going, every day the same bullshit would happen. I wasn't popular at all. Girls picked on me and boys laughed at me. I was quiet and to myself. I had one friend but she was in the in crowd so we really didn't hang out as much at school. I was a straight A student and was number one in my class. The year had just kicked off and I couldn't be happier. This was my last year, and I wanted it to go by as smooth as possible. My parents had just bought me an all-white Mercedes Benz. I always had nice cars, and dressed the way I wanted, but of course Jamie always thought I was competing with her.
My name is Isabella Marie Hopkins, Bella for short. I'm the daughter of the two most respected doctors in Miami. My mom delivered babies and was a heart surgeon. My dad was a surgeon and did just about anything. No one knew that my family was rich not even my best friend Kayla. It's crazy that she really didn't know much about us but I wanted it to stay that way.
My parents and I were very close, and I loved the bond that we had. My mom always told me to watch out for Kayla, that she would hurt me the most. I guess she was right because on the first day of school she completely blew me off for Jamie. When they were talking about me Kayla would laugh like it was the funniest thing in the world.
We were all in second period for home etc. I don't even know why I took this class, I could of went home after taking two classes but I didn't have anything to do. My parents were at work and I literally had no friends.
Mrs. Lucky got up in the front of the class to talk. I heard she was an easy teacher so I know this year should go by smooth for me. "Okay class settle down. This year we are going to start off with our baby projects. I have paired each student already so when I call your name go by your partner.
James and Mia
Ryan and Bridget
Derek and Porsha
Richard and Hayley
Kingston and Isabella
Sammy and Jamie
Alvin and Latasha
Timothy and Destiny
Liam and Trinity
Robert and Kayla
Everyone has a baby and a career background. Talk with your partner and get to know one another if you don't already."
I heard the seat next to me move, and there was Kingston. "What's up partner." His voice was so deep. I always thought he was cute, but never spoke to him. We had some classes together before but like I said I stayed to myself. I just gave him a small hey, while I was trying to hide my blush.
"Mrs. Lucky can I switch with Bella, I want to be Kings' partner." Jamie spoke up and said. I always wondered why she didn't like me. I was sweet to everyone. We never even hung out so I don't know what I could have done to make her feel that way. Mrs. Lucky looked up for a moment before replying. " Kingston do you want to switch?"
I could tell he wanted to but something made him say no. On the outside I was cool but the inside I was jumping for joy. I did not want to work with Sammy. He had this huge crush on me. I thought it was sweet and cute at first till he started popping up everywhere I went. He got my number and was calling all the time. My parents had to get a restrain order out on him. The only reason he was in the same class as me is because my parents hasn't come to the school yet.
I see the hope he had in his eyes disappear once Kingston said no., I didn't want to be around him. Let alone give him a reason to think he could talk to me. "So, Isabella let's see what we do for a living," there was his deep voice again. Lawd why was he testing me. "Well the papers says oh lord Mrs. Lucky done lost her mind!" He laughed and I swear I felt my insides clinch. "She really has."
"Mrs. Lucky I refuse to be a dam stripper," Jamie said with this mad look on her face. In my opinion when you come to school dressed like a stripper that's what people think you are. There was rumors going around that she even worked at a strip club. Who knows, all I know is I didn't give a dam.
"Dam at least you're not a strung-out crack head teacher. Mrs. Lucky you know you went to far." Sometimes I missed hanging with Kayla, but when she treat me the way she do I just let he be. I can't afford fake friends anymore. Soon she will learn though. I've even heard Jamie speak bad about her.
I wanted to laugh so bad, everyone occupation was on the paper. Kingston was a well-known drug dealer, and I was a stay at home wife. We've been married for three years and just had a baby boy. "Come get your babies. They do all the things a real baby would do so treat it as so." She had this look on her face that told me she knew some of the students wasn't going to do right.
Once the bell rung, we all left with our babies. Since I paid attention throughout the day, I seen more and more students with babies, well mostly seniors. "Hey wifey." Just like the first time I gave King a low hey back. We were at lunch and I was beyond starving. I always sat by myself so it was a shock when King and his friends came to sit by me. "Oh these my friends Ryan, Robby, Dylan, and Chase." I wave to everyone while King added, "This my wifey y'all."
"You lucky I got little hoe ass Bridget," his friend Ryan spoke out. They all started laughing, and I couldn't help but to join them. I heard a lot about her throughout the school, even though I didn't believe it at first, I caught her and Richard in the girl's bathroom. I couldn't believe that she was actually doing that at school. Then afterwards he went around telling everyone, they didn't believe him, so he had people coming and asking me. That shit was so disrespectful.
"That girl said they was dating though," Kingston replied. Then Ryan shot back, "Fuck all of that, who does that at school." I just sat there and took everything in. I went from being alone to sitting with a table full of boys. Something told me to looked over. I seen Jamie and Kayla walking over to the table, and by the looks of it she was upset. I wanted to move but I wasn't done eating. I knew some shit was about to start from the look on their face.
"King why didn't you switch with me?" Her voice was beginning to irritate me more then ever now. "Because I didn't want to, besides I wanted to work with Bella." When he said that my heart jumped. "Why are you still here? Move around bitch."
Everyone looked at her in shock, while Kayla just stood there and laughed. I just began to get all my stuff together because I didn't have time to fight this girl. I was tired of the bullshit and my patience was running very thin with her. When I stood up to leave Kingston grabbed my hand. "What you leaving for you was here before all of us." "It's okay I don't have time for the shit today, I need to get to the library anyways."
"Jamie take yo ass over there somewhere and get off Kingston dick," his friend Robby said. We had a lot of classes together last year. He would barely talk, but when he did it was always stopping someone from getting bullied." Shut the fuck you Robby, Kingston knows what's up."
Everyone knew that they had something going on. I was surprised that he didn't be her partner. They dated a while back and I don't think they broke up. She was always with Kingston so I knew there was still something going on between them.
