Chapter 5

At this point, I honestly couldn’t be any more surprised, so when Vincent charged and decided to be a douche and tell me that my parents were angels, I kind of just took the information, nodded, and sat the hell down. I was going to need to deal with that later. With some food, and coffee.

The fact that literally everyone knew shit that I didn’t, though, irritated the shit out of me. I’m sorry, but when did I miss all these memos? I mean… This Is some pretty serious shit! And apparently there’s some kind of danger or threat coming after us all?! Like… No. Just no. Everyone is so wrong.

“So Angel Dad, Angel Mom,” My parents must have heard the contempt in my voice, because I saw them flinch slightly,” why are you guys angels, how are you guys angels, and why am I not one, if it’s true?”

Silence. Silence. And oh, yeah MORE SILENCE. Oh come ooon-

“Okay,” My dad said, speaking up,” We’ll tell you-“

“Dam straight you’ll tell me-“

“But you need to promise to hear us out before you say anything, okay honey?” I looked at my dad, marveling inconsistently at him. Wow, an angel. That is some pretty cool shit.

“Yes dad,” I replied quietly. He sighed and continued.

“Alright. So the only way I can say this as simply as possible is: you’re adopted. You’re mother and I, we were servants of a… God I suppose you would call them now. And he and his wife had you… You didn’t seem to have any prospect of anything. They deemed you unworthy, entirely irrelevant in their world, because you didn’t seem to have anything special for you. So our god cast you out. He sent you away. He would’ve preferred a son, but just couldn’t do with a daughter.” He took a deep breath.”But our lady, our goddess, couldn’t bear to do such a thing to one to precious, so innocent, so pure of her own skin, her own body and creation, so she called upon us; your mother and I, to take care of you. She gave us the roles of your guardian angels, and cast us off, then, safely, to Earth. Where we obviously now preside.” My father... Or not my father trailed off, seeming to get lost in his own thoughts. I didn’t blame him; I was lost in my own as well.

“Okay,” I said slowly. “Okay. I understand.” Every one looked surprised, as though they expected me to faint again. I smirked, amused. I was a big girl in awesome clothes, no way in hell was that going to happen.

“So,” I said, standing up again, and walking around the dining room. I glared at Vincent. “Sit.” I commanded, glaring at him. He had no damn right to tell me that information without my parent’s permission. Yeah, they weren’t really my parents, but as far as I’m concerned, they were as close as I’m going to get so. I shrugged; why not keep them?

I looked back at Vincent, waiting for him to sit his ass down. I raised my eyebrows. “Please?” I added on as an afterthought. He honestly didn’t deserve the “please”, but now was not the time to be fighting with him. I had bigger fish to fry, and he was such a crap face.

Smirking at me, he sat own, putting his feet on the table. “Yes, your majesty,” He said, grinning cheekily. Idiots. I’m surrounded by idiots.

“So,” I started once again, continuing my stroll around the room. “Danger. What is this danger you guys were talking about?” I asked, directing my question to my friends.

“WELL CREEPER EVIL PEOPLE ARE TRYNA KILL YOU AND OR TAKE YOU FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL GAIN AND I HATE TO SAY IT’S PROBABLY RAPE OR MONEY OR TAKING OVER THE WORLD BUT IT PROBABLY IS.” I stared at Alicia blankly. Omg that was the most I’ve ever heard her talk ever. Huh.
