Have you ever seen it snow in LA?
Well, neither had Phoenix Wright. Never in his life had it snown there, and that was not about to change. Yet, the former defense attorney had found himself sitting by the window of Wright Anything Agency on the 1st of December, along with his teenage daughter, Trucy, waiting for snow to magically appear, when it wasn't even cold enough outside to need a hat. 'Daddy! I think I saw a snowflake!' the girl squealed, a big smile on her face. Phoenix chuckled, not even bothering to check, if she was correct, because she wasn't. He felt quite bitter about the lack of snow. All the movies and books associated with Christmas had lots of the curious snowpack, and as a child, he always wanted to spend that wonderous holiday somewhere cold enough to see it with his own eyes. The Christmas lights shinning through the white snow, the cold eating on his cheeks and making the faces of all the people around him red. But that never happened, and he was stuck with the LA weather.
His trail of thoughts was interrupted by a ring of his phone, vibrating along to the sound in his pocket. The man searched through his hoodie pockets hastily, finally getting a firm grip on the device. He answered it without even checking who was calling, 'Hello, this is the Wright Anything Agency. How can I help you?' he mumbled tiredly. It was way too early for him to be awake, it was currently around six am, because Trucy didn't want to search for snow alone on a Tuesday morning. 'Well, you sure sound cheerful, Wright,' a smooth voice spoke through the phone, the voice of a cold blooded prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth. 'Ugh. I can practically hear him smirking..,' Phoenix thought, rolling his eyes. 'Yes, yes. Very funny, Miles,' he said. 'Why are you calling? Surely not just to make fun of me? ('although I wouldn't mind you calling more frequently' - he added,) '
Miles smiled at the last comment of his old friend, his stoic face softening into an adoring expression, 'I'll have you know, I'm just making sure our favorite magician is doing alright,' he replied, closing his eyes before continuing, 'And.. I suppose, I could frequent my check - ups,' the attorney opened his eyes again, his ears registering a surprised hum from the other end of the line, 'What do you say?' 'Hehe, yes, please!' the other man replied, his voice instantly becoming chirpier and more energetic, 'About what you were asking, though. Truce's fine, as energetic as ever. You know her,' Phoenix replied, sighing fondly, 'Just woke me up for snow hunting.' Miles stifled a laugh, raising an eyebrow, 'Snow? In Los Angeles? Did you hit your head, Wright?' he teased, a smirk forming on his face. 'It wasn't my idea!' the poor man barked, '..but I won't say I wasn't a little disappointed that there isn't any.' The other smiled, running a hand through his silver hair, a quiet chuckle escaping his lips. There was a gasp heard from the phone, 'Just because you in your Germany get to have a snowy Christmas, doesn't mean you can laugh at me!'
Phoenix pouted like a small child. Why did Miles have to always laugh at him? He knew his foul mood was silly on his own! he didn't need the prosecutor to remind him of it too. The attorney sensed the other's melancholic mood, his mouth opening, but no words coming out, he swallowed anxiously, 'Um, do not worry yourself, Phoenix.. Perhaps, you and I could see the first snow together someday..'
