When you woke up the next morning, you found the bed empty. You rolled over, eyes still clenched together, trying to force yourself back to sleep. After about 10 minutes you gave up. Sighing, you sat up, looking at the clothes all over the floor. You smiled, shaking your head slightly, and reached for your wand. Flicking your risk slightly, you watched as everything rose off the floor and ended up neatly folded on the chair in the corner. And Ron thinks I cant fight Death Eaters, you thought to yourself, smiling.
A few minutes later, you were up, dressed and on your way downstairs. You walked in to find everyone moping around, half asleep. Some of them turned to great you, others just made a noise to acknowledge your arrival.
"Morning y/n, how are you dear?" Molly smiled as she walked in with a tray of coffee.
"Fine thank you" you smiled as she handed you a mug.
"Aw mum, that was mine!" Fred moaned from the couch.
"You can wait, you've only yourself to blame!" Molly replied, turning her back and leaving again. You laughed as you moved his legs out the way to sit down.
"You ok there, Freddie?" you asked, sipping your coffee. He held up his middle finger in reply. "Charming" you laughed, patting one of his legs as he stretched them back over you.
Just then, Ron came in. He had two plates pilled high with food. "Ah, morning darling!" he smiled when he saw you, he came over, gave you a kiss on the head, and handed you a plate.
"Seriously, y/n!? First my coffee, now this?!" Fred muttered.
"She's more important" Ron replied as he sat down on the floor by your feet, and started working his way through the food infront of him.
"Come on, sit up. I'll share" you smiled. Fred responded immediately and before you knew it, he was sat right next to you, grabbing a sausage from your plate. You all sat enjoying breakfast, exchanging stories of last night and watching as one by one, everyone appeared from wherever they had passed out at.
Soon, Ginny appeared, closely followed by Harry. They both looked quite sheepish. You, Fred and Ron looked between each other, smirking.
"What about Ollie?" you whispered, as they sat down at the opposite side of the room together. Ginny had been seeing a muggle the last time you saw her, much to the twins delight.
"Couldnt hack it," Ron replied quietly, "glad to see she's not dwelling on it." You all laughed.
"Does it bother you?" you asked the boys.
"Nah, they've fancied each other since school. It got a bit boring watching them pine for each other. This is alot more fun." Fred answered. "Alright you two? Just happened to wake up at the same time, did we?" he shouted over to them just as Molly walked back in. Harry shot him a dirty look making you all laugh.
As the morning passed, the three of you were joined by the others. By lunch time, the house felt crowded again. Ron had made his way up to sit beside you on the couch. Fred kept making Weasley sandwich jokes, and putting his arm round you, which was driving Ron mad. You would have never expected him to be the jealous type, but watching Fred wind him up was hilarious. Every so often, Fred would pull you closer, and you'd rest your head against him, but within seconds, Ron would grab you back, warning Fred not to push his luck.
You all sat round the table for lunch, and the casual chat quickly turned to business. You listened as Sirius explained what the next move should be. He didnt want to sit around and wait, he wanted to bring the fight to the Death Eaters. "If we wait, they'll pick us off one by one. We cant let that happen. We have to get to them first."
"When though, Sirius?" Harry asked. You had watched closely how Harry behaved around his Godfather. He clearly worshipped him, clinging onto his every word. It was almost like he was his real father. And in return, Sirius treated him like a son.
"Soon..." Sirius began, slowly looking round the table at everyone. "Tomorrow."
No one spoke. Your eyes met Ron's as he took your hand and gripped it tight. He looked worried. You probably did too. You didnt expect it to happen so quickly. You thought you'd have time to prepare. Maybe it was best that you didnt.
"I received some information, they are due to meet tomorrow evening. Its the perfect opportunity" Sirius explained.
"And what if its another trap?" Ron asked him.
"We'll be ready this time. Last time, it was just you and Harry versus an army. This time, we'll bring an army too." he nodded.
"It seems soon," Lupin added "but theres a good chance they already know we are meeting. They will be preparing."
Suddenly, there was a bang from the other room. Everyone jumped up, grabbing their wands and turning to face the direction the sound came from. Ron stood infront of you protectively.
"What a dump" a voice said, before the door opened slowly. "God, what kind of welcome is this?"
"...Malfoy?" Harry was the first to speak. Raising his wand and pointing it at him "What are you...?"
There was a silence as Draco Malfoy looked round the room. "I've come to join." he finally spoke. Almost everyone lowered their wands.
"Yeah right," Ron spoke, his wand still pointed directly at Draco. "What is it, here to spy for your daddy and his friends?" he spat.
"Calm down, Weasley. I wouldnt come to this hole of a place unless I really had to" Draco retorted. You reached your hand out and lowered Ron's wand.
"We dont need you Draco, leave." Harry spoke clearly.
"Harry," Sirius interrupted "we need all the help we can get."
Harry looked livid. He opened his mouth to protest, but Sirius raised a hand to stop him. You looked up at Ron, who looked at you from the corner of his eye. You pulled his arm and you both sat down again, still watching Draco.
"Look, I dont want to be here." Draco looked around, his voice sounded disgusted. "But the Death Eaters are hunting my father too." he looked directly at Sirius, "I have to protect my family"
A silence fell over the room as you all looked around at each other.
"It wouldnt hurt to have him on our side," Lupin began, "he knows how they think"
Ron let out a snort.
"He's right" you spoke so quietly, you were suprised anyone heard you. Ron shot round and stared at you. "Well he is" your voice was louder now. "If he's willing to put himself at risk, why should we stop him?"
"Why?! Because he's a rat! Thats why!" Harry yelled at you.
"Easy, mate" Ron stood up again.
"He lead them right to us the last time, incase you had all forgotten! But of course, you wouldnt know that. Where were you last time? Safe at home with your parents while the rest of us fought! You have no idea!"
"Thats enough." Ron walked round the table towards him. "Dont you dare talk to her like that!"
You felt the sting of tears in your eyes as you stood up and walked out the room, leaving everyone else arguing round the table. The tears fell from your eyes as soon as you stepped outside. Harry was right, you had no idea. You had no right to comment on anything. Ron came out soon after and wrapped his arms round you.
"Ignore Harry, he can be such a prat."
"He's right though, I shouldnt have said anything."
"He isnt right. You are part of The Order now, that gives you a right to talk." he kissed your head. "He's just pissed cause Sirius disagreed with him. Crazy daddy issues" Ron laughed. You smiled, your head buried into his chest. You both stood there for a few moments in silence. You breathed him in, enjoying his warmth. He felt like home.
"I love you, Ron. I want you to know that, no matter what happens, I..."
He cut you off "nothing is going to happen, everything is going to be fine. But I love you too, y/n"
