Jin Soo has had a pretty big Celebrity crush on her since he was a child, he considers the crush more of an admiration celebrity crush. One of his biggest wishes is to meet her in person one day and become her friend.
In 2010 a video of Jin Soo was posted on Twitter of him fanboying over Mariah Carey's new music video at the time 'Up out of my face' which was posted by one of his managers on his personal Twitter account, the video ended up going semi-viral and Mariah saw the video and then saw the covers Jin Soo done of some of her songs on music shows and made a video clip where she publicly acknowledged him. Then his manager videoed him watching the video and having a fanboy attack.

Jin Soo had a pretty big Celebrity crush on her when he was younger, to the point where Jessica would tease him about it all the time but then he met her when he was at the cast in the movie 'tell me your secret' in 2007 and when he first met her was very very very shy and quiet which is the opposite of his usual self but he was still extremely polite at the same time.
What did she think when they first met: She thought that his 16 year old and 168cm self was was very adorable and innocent, and he was a lil bean who needed to protected, so she took him under her wing.
Did they become friends after meeting: They then became good friends but Jin Soo's celebrity crush on her went away quickly because he saw her as one of his noonas but then she found out he used to have a celebrity crush on her, which she still teases him about as a joke to this day but it's all in lighthearted jokes.
