Fake realationship

Rena pov:
I forced my hair in a pony tail. Today was a hard day at work, so many coffees. I shudder at the thought of the events of today. All I wanted was to roll up into my duvet and watch some alien documentary or a sci-fy anime. I was walking to my house when I got a phone call from my mom URGH.
"Hey my little alien how was work." She asked, I sighed and said "good I had a lot of orders today." There was a moment of silence and then she said. "Great! We were wondering if you would like to come over for dinner tommorrow. Your sister flora, and her husband are coming. Your welcome to bring a guest if you like." she said. She was implying that floras better than you, she doesn't have blue hair! She has a husband and she's a doctor! URGH! The rage over came over me and I said "Can I bring over my boyfriend Alex."
Oh shit did I just say that! I felt cold sweat barrel down my back, oh lord jesus. Me and Smith weren't really in a relationship, we just slept with each other. Pretty much we had a friends with benefits relationship.
"Of course!" She said with such excitement. Oh great.
"Come at 4:30, bye." she said and I sighed how the fuck was I suppose to pull this up.

When I got home I quickly called Smith.
"Hey Rena." he said. His voice always made me smile.
"Hey uh do you mind being my fake boyfriend so I can impress my parents so they don't think I'm a loser and that my sisters better." I said quickly. There was a moment of silence.
"Uh yeah sure, don't talk too fast next time please." he said which made me laugh.

I quickly fixed my hair into a bun and checked my makeup in the mirror. Why was I always nervous when I visited my family. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a black skater dress and I had my hair in a pony tail. I looked at myself in the mirror and said to myself "Rena you can do this!" I took a deep breath and exhaled.
The doorbell ring and I hurried towards the door and opened in. Smith appeared in a suit and I smiled at him.
"Ok! I have the directions shall we go." I said looking up at him. He was wicked tall compared to me.
"We shall." he said offering his hand. I grasped his hand and we walked to his car.

We walked up to the doorstep and knocked on the door. I held onto smiths jacket tightly and he looked down at me and said "Rena it'll be find don't worry." I took a deep breath and exhaled.
My dad answered the door and smiled.
"Rena, my little astronomer." he said and hugging me, and then he looked up at smith.
"and you must be Alex." My dad said crossing his arms. Oh god.
"Uh yes, my full names Alex smith." smith says holding out his hand. My dad shakes his hand steadily. Why I am I so nervous about them approving of smith, I mean were not dating or anything so why would I be nervous.
"Ok come inside." my dad says moving aside. We walk into the dining room were everyone is. I see my sister and her lawfully wedded husband.
"Hi Rena take a seat." my mom says, and then brings her attention back to her conversation with my sister. I sigh and sit down.
The whole dinner no one says a word to me expect smith, but my dad kept asking questions about him.
"So Alex what kind of job do you have." my dad asked. Oh lord.
"Uh I work as a youtube commentator for a company called the Yogscast." Smith says. my dad frowns and says "How does that sustain money in anyway!" Everyone at the table brings there attention to us.
"Actually I earn quite a lot, and they pay you for how many views and likes you get on each video." smith says reassuring my father, yet I don't think it works.
"That's not a real job." my dad says and I can tell smith was hurt like that. I stand up and say "What is he not good enough for you! You were a fricken author dad, that's entertainment business and that's the same thing Alex is in. At least he's having fun and makes money while doing his job." I grab my purse and walk away from the table. I grab my jacket from the coat rack and slip it on and run outside.
Why are they always like this! I hate them. I feel tears fall down my cheeks, as I sit out in the cold. It's so cold it feels as though my tears may freeze.
I hear the steady steps of someone walking over and I turn to see smith standing there.
"Rena you ok." he asks stuffing his hands in his pockets. I shake my head and he sits down beside me and wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"Why were you so worried about what he said about me, I mean where not dating." Alex says looking at me. I felt my hands get sweaty and cold sweat begin to trail down my back. I shrugged not knowing what to say.
He moved my face so He could look me in the eyes and he said "Rena, I know there's something else, and I need you to tell me." I feel my hands shutter and I take a deep breath, as though I'm going to dive under water and say "I like you smith a lot and I want to be more than this relationship we have together."
I clench my fists together and close my eyes tightly waiting for his words of rejection. He says nothing for the longest time and I open my eyes to see him smiling. I feel myself begin to blush and I look away from him so he couldn't see I was blushing.
"Ok, then will you be my girlfriend." he said "Since you said you wanted to I'm guessing that's a yes." I feel my face turn bright red.
"Sure." I said shyly and he laughed and kissed me, and I quickly kissed him back.
"Wanna go home." he said when we parted, and I nodded. We hopped into the car not wanting to spend another minute with my family.
