Regulus softly played "Light Lights Up Light" a song from his favorite anime, death note.
The song comforted him. He felt alive and raw as he played.
Emotions were never something he was very good at. Being taught to show none and look down on those who did.
He was beaten young, by his mother, the excuse always was that he was crying which only made the small boy cry harder, until one day he learned to be numb.
He was always numb from that day on. Emotions were repressed and he was 'perfect'.
An example for all. He, Regulus Black, was perfect.
At least that was his title
Reality was different
Regulus would cry himself to sleep every night, after making sure his mother was asleep for the night. He slit his wrists countless time and rarely ate aside from the occasional break stick.
This 17year old boy was more broken than anyone thought.
As he piled up guilt, frustration and hatred towards the world, he grew only more shattered.
Joining The Dark Lord was breaking him the most thus far.
And that leads us to now
As Regulus played the soft notes so familiar he could play with his eyes closed.
He sat at his piano in the smaller living area. It was a good distance away from the bedrooms and his mother wasn't home anyway, only his brother.
The winter sun shined softly on his face through the sheer white curtains
And that was when he let the first one drop
A small tear slowly rolled down his face
He had barely realized it, and wouldn't have if it weren't for the small amount of relief he got.
As the song continued to slip from his finger tips and flow out of the piano.
He cried.
Tears
Tears fell from his eyes at a fast speed
He felt free
Alive
For once he felt like he could breath
As he got to the end of the song he took a sharpe breath in, and played the last note.
His finger lifted slowly from the key and he sat there, looking at his piano.
"Wow" a voice softly said behind him.
"Hua" he screeched, his heart picking up in pace.
"Oh sorry to scare you, i can go" the voice said.
Regulus refuses to look back at the voice. They'd see the tears and think less of him.
"Please do" he said, his voice cracking a little sounding sad.
"Wait, are you crying?" The voice said filled with worry.
"No" Regulus said as another tear fell.
He heard the wooden floor boards creek as the person moved in the room.
He felt a warm hand place itself on his back.
Regulus turned his face the other way.
"Are you okay reggie?" The voice said.
