"Honey, please buy some bread from the store." Mom said. "Okay mom." I replied. I walked out the door and proceeded walking across the village. As I was walking, from a distance, I heard a man yell "Hey kiddo!" I looked back and it was Uncle Yen. I noticed he had this painful and worried expression on his face. "Uncle Yen, what's wrong?" I asked. He smiled and said, "Oh nothing. How's your mother doing?" with a stuttering voice. I got worried and said, "She's doing good. Is something the matter?" He then  gave me letter and said to give it to my mom. After that, he walked away and waved goodbye.

I arrived at the bakery, bought bread and went home directly. Along the way home, I wondered why Uncle Yen seemed worried. I finally reached home and yelled "Mom!? Where are you?" I tried opening the door but it was locked. I went behind the house to check if mom was with Rocco, our horse. She wasn't there. I started panicking. "I'm here sweetheart." I looked back and noticed mom was just hanging the laundry. I sighed with relief. Mom giggled and asked, "Did you meet your Uncle Yen? He's been scaring a lot of people lately." I gave mom the letter and told her it was from Uncle Yen.

As she opened the letter, her gentle tone and serene look turned into a sad expression. She went upstairs in a rush and packed a lot of clothes and other things. I didn't know what was happening. I was very confused so I didn't speak. She looked at me, leaned in, put her hand over my cheek and said, "It's going to be fine. I just didn't know that I would say goodbye this soon." She smiled as she teared up. Her hand was cold and I could feel her fear. I didn't know what was happening. I was scared.

She went outside to prepare Rocco. I wore my bag and went outside. She came back and we walked through the forest. We walked for about fifteen minutes and finally stopped at a Very big tree that looked like a thousand meters tall. The land around it was very green and peaceful and rich. Mom looked at me and said, "Alix?" She sighed with relief saying, "We're here. We finally made it." She paused. "You are your father's daughter. You were born special. What he had in him is what you have in you. Rocco will lead you to a man in a small and deserted island. He will explain everything. Remember, I am always watching you everyday and every second." Mom made a warm smile and gave a warm hug. "Mom, where are you going?" Mom kissed my forehead and gave me a letter. She whispered with a soft tone, "Don't open it unless you need to."

She let go of me and whispered to Rocco. Suddenly, a beautiful, yellow beam of light was shot from the sun and onto us. Rocco ran across the forest before I could even say goodbye. I looked back and Mom gave the sweetest and warmest smile. As the distance grew wider, mom mouthed the words I love you. My heart broke. I didn't realize tears were already streaming down my face. I felt as if I was already drowning. I held tightly onto Rocco.

While we were running, I noticed Rocco's fur was turning into a kind of glowing black color. His mane got longer. We were approaching the ocean. I was scared. A few steps closer to the water, I closed my eyes. It was pitch black but it was calming. I heard a voice say, "Open and do not be afraid." It kind of sounded like mom. As I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was water. Rocco could on water. I was amazed. It felt like a dream. I could feel Mom's hand over my cheek as the wind gently touches my face. The peacefulness of the water calmed my soul. I closed my eyes, hoping to hear gentle voices. I slowly raised my hand and tried to feel the gentle breeze as Rocco slows down. I wish...I just wish...that I could feel it again.
