Burn and Burn

In the middle of the night, I woke up to the smell of smoke and loud neighs from what sounds like horses from below. I got up and looked down to check what the ruckus was all about. And to my surprise, I saw two men wearing black and red leather clothing, walking around the house on their horses, carrying torches. They were yelling and yelling and Mari kept on barking and barking and the two men ran to the woods. Out of curiosity, I jumped of the roof and unto the ground and followed them, along with Mari and Rocco. 

It was in the middle of the night so I couldn't see well. I was just following them from a far distance. I just kept eye on the light of their torches. I realized we were already far into the woods and I lost them. I told Mari to transform into an eagle and search for them. She transformed and flew around the woods. While waiting, I could hear wolves howl from the deep woods. Suddenly, a hand touched my shoulder. I gasped and looked back and it was Master O. "Phew! Thank god it was just you." I sighed with relief. Master O got mad and said, "Alix! What are you doing here!?" I noticed Master was riding a horse.

"Mari? Is that you?" I asked. Mari must've went back and warned him.

"Focus Alix! We're going back. These woods are dangerous and so are they."

I didn't speak because I was worried he'd get more mad. But it looks like he knew who those men were. I was curious but not curious enough to ask and get yelled at. We went home and slept.

I woke up and looked at the clock. It was already 9:56 am. Surely, Master O would have already woke me up but considering what happened last night, I think I'm going to have to pay for what I did in the next training. I got up and went downstairs, nervous as ever. I saw breakfast ready in the table. Master O was sitting, crossing his arms. He looked at me and said "Well?" I flinched and got really stiff. I walked to the table and ate without saying a word. Everything was so awkward and I'm guessing small talk would make it worse.

As I was eating, I guess Master O realized I loosened up a bit because he cooked me my favorite food. He told me about everything that happened last night and why it happened. Master O told me what kind of people they were. He said those were the kind of people that killed my father. I flinched and put the spoon down. I got a little bit worried and I felt my body shaking a bit. I tried to comfort myself by telling myself I could just fight them off because I knew how to fight. And then I thought of Master O. What if they'll come back tonight and I'm not awake? I got more worried. 

Master O stood up and gave my head a pat saying, "It will be alright. Don't worry yourself too much Alix. You know your mother and father wouldn't want you too." I could tell he was worried about it. I mean, who wouldn't be.

The days went off normal. Got training, went around the village and took Mari and Rocco a bath. Until one day, when I just finished training, I went to the village like I normally do. As I was steps away from there, I smelled fire and burning. I rushed to see what going on and in my first look, the whole village burned down and was torn to shreds. It was a dreadful sight. My heartbeat accelerated. I was crying and the first thought I had in mind was Master O. Tears filled my face as I rush to my one and only home. I screamed "Master O!" when I finally arrived. 

I prayed to the heavens that no one tried to sabotage our home. Thankfully, no one burned our house. I bust the door open and called out to Master O. I saw blood in the kitchen. I ran towards it. I saw Master's body lying down on the floor with blood leaking out from his chest that was shot by an arrow. The kind of arrow that Master told me about.
