Redemption

Chapter Two

It had been a week since Harumi and Morro first arrived. They each spent all their time in their rooms and it was up to Nya and Jay to bring them food and water.

The other ninja had mixed reactions to staying in the same building as them. Kai and Cole were angry, Lloyd was frightened, and Zane was the calmest.

Morro's health had been taken care of slowly. He wouldn't let anyone touch him and hadn't even spoken, the only time someone had heard his voice was when he told Nya to shut up on her dragon.

Harumi would speak, but she wouldn't start conversations on her own. Only Jay, Nya, and Zane had been into her room, Zane had gone in to do a quick medical check and make sure everything was okay, which it was.

Now it was midnight, Nya and Jay were awake, and trying to coax Morro into taking his shirt off so they could check for any wounds and make sure he was okay.

"Morro? Don't worry, we aren't going to hurt you. We just need to see under your shirt to make sure you're okay. Please, can you help us out here?"

Morro firmly shook his head and growled at Nya, sitting a bit further away from her.

Jay sighed. He was tired, and they were getting nowhere. He looked up as the door opened and Harumi stepped in, she was wearing her nightgown and looked tired.

"Rumi? What are you doing up?" Nya asked.

"Couldn't sleep. Is he okay?" She asked.

Jay glanced at him and Morro glared right back. "We don't know, he's being a bit.. stubborn."

Harumi seemed to put together what Jay and Nya were trying to do and walked over to Morro, pulling his shirt off. He tried snatching it back but she held it away from him, and he got distracted by trying to cover his chest.

He had scars over his back and chest. That's why he didn't want Nya or Jay to see what was under his shirt. "Go away!"

It was nice to hear Morro actually speak to them but Nya had to know what happened. "How did you get those?" She gently took his wrist to move it away and let her see but he jerked it away from her, glaring at her.

Harumi gave him back the shirt and he quickly put it on. "Can you guys go? I'm tired."

Nya stood up and decided they'd talk about it tomorrow, leading Harumi to her room. Harumi didn't try to go against her, she walked beside her.

"Nya?"

"Yeah, Rumi?"

Harumi sat down in bed and got under the covers, laying down. "What's wrong with him?"

Nya sighed. "I don't know. We'll find out, eventually. Now get some sleep, it's late."

Nya sat by her side until Harumi fell asleep. She left the room and locked the door, seeing Jay doing the same to Morro's door.

"He's panicked. Whatever.. or.. whoever gave him those scars traumatized him, he really didn't want us seeing them." Jay sighed.

"We have to find out somehow; just to on to bed, we'll decide this in the morning."

The ninja were all out dealing with a bank robbery, except for Nya and Jay. They stayed back with Morro and Harumi, and decided to let them out of their rooms.

So that's why they ended up doing a game of cards in the kitchen.

Harumi was really into it, she was competitive and didn't look like she was going to let anyone beat her. She won almost every game, once Morro beat her.
