Chapter 30

"Rylen baby."

I woke up in a white room and I saw mom and dad sleeping on the side of my bed with their arms supporting their head. I pat their heads and they move a little bit.

Slowly they open their eyes.

"Our angel is awake." Daddy said with a kiss on my forehead.

"How's your sleep my angel? How about your wounds? Is it still painful?" Mommy asked.

"My wounds are a bit fine now mommy."

"Oh thank goodness." She and daddy hugged me.

"But mom, dad where's Rylen?"

"He's in a critical condition anak. We don't know if he can survi--." I cut her off.

"No mom I know he can survive. He's a strong man. He won't die, he'll live." I said while shaking my head in disagreement.

"Anak please don't cry. You're breaking our heart." Daddy wipe my tears and kissed it.

We had a group hug for a few moments.

"Now rest for now Jewel, our angel. We love you."

"I love you too mom, dad."

I tried to sleep but I can't because of my husband.

"Daddy."

"Yes angel?"

"Where's Rylen? I want to see him."

"He's in the I.C.U. By the way your mom went outside to buy your favorite foods." I nodded.

Dad assist me to stand up and ask the nurse for a wheelchair. We don't need their approval for me to go outside because this hospital is ours.

"Ouch my leg hurts." Dad carried me in a bridal position to sit on the wheelchair.

"It's okay angel. Daddy's here."

My heart beats so fast as we went to the I.C.U. Tears running down on my cheeks when we arrive at his room.

"Rylen." I tried to stand up but I also tripped because of my legs but daddy catch me.

He's in his weak state wearing oxygen and IV. I never saw him like this before.

"Be careful Angel."

He help me to get near to him.

"Baby. Rylen wake up please." He didn't answer me.

Despite from his closed eyes his handsome face never fades.

"I love you my baby hubby. Gumising ka na. I'm here beside you waiting for you to wake up."

I hugged him so tight and kissed his lips. But for the first time he didn't kiss back, he didn't answer me.

I was about to say a word again when....

"Angel can you please sit down for a while."

"Why dad?"

"I need to check him."

Dad check him and I saw his sad expression.

"I'm sorry anak. I tried my best to help and cure him. But ---"

"What do you mean dad? He's not yet dead maybe you're just mistaken. Do something. Check him again please."

"I'm sorry Angel. Say your last words and goodbye to Rylen. Don't worry we will take good care of you even if Rylen isn't here anymore.

"I'm just dreaming right dad? I want to wake up in this nightmare."

"Time of death 9:00 pm."
