I was dreaming the most wonderful dream, imagining myself flying high above the rooftops of my neighbourhood and soaring across the nighttime sky. The feeling of the wind weaving through my hair and whipping against my face was exhilarating, seeing as I wasn't usually allowed out of my house unless my father wasn't there and I could sneak out unnoticed.
At least, I thought it was a dream.
As I dipped closer to the treetops that lined my suburban area and stretched on towards the river, I suddenly became aware of the fact that I was not actually the one doing all the flying. I angled my head down to look at the arms that seemed to be strongly but cautiously wrapped around my waist, but instead I saw arms that were transparent and didn't even seem to be touching me. By this point I was only half-asleep and my instincts were beginning to kick in. I couldn't turn my head around to try and look at the face of my apparent captor, but for some reason I did not feel afraid. No, for once in a very long time I actually felt... free. And alive. I no longer cared if this was just a desperate dream or if it really was happening. Someone had heard my pathetic pleas for help. Although I knew deep down that I would wake up at any moment and realise that it was my imagination running wild again, I didn't want to think about reality. Not right now. Not when I was flying through the air at a speed that made me feel like I was a rocket, seemingly so close to the stars that I had just been admiring from my bedroom window that I could reach out a hand and brush against them.
But the shadowed figure holding me had other ideas.
He angled my body so that I was facing the ground below me, which had now opened up into the never-ending sea, and I felt like I was super man or something. Man, this was some dream. I would definitely need to write it down when I woke up, but I didn't want this to ever end. Instead, I closed my eyes and let the rush of the wind and the spray from the ocean waves wash over me as I somehow slipped back into my peaceful sleep.

Authors note

I know this was kind of a short chapter, and it didn't really explain much (oops), but I felt I needed it in order to describe the way Frankie has been feeling throughout her life.
I'm hoping the next chapter might be more interesting for you guys, if you didn't enjoy this one :)
