Reacting to Nobody Wants to Be Judge

Food appeared in front of them and they ate in silence for about 5 minutes before the room darkened and all eyes fell onto the screen.

A figure was walking through judgement hall, dragging along another figure.

"Well, this doesn't look good," Undyne stated matter-of-factly. "Anyone have any idea what's going on."

Most shook their head but nobody saw that the small skeleton stayed frozen in his seat.

The screen zoomed in on the figures to reveal that Sans was the one being dragged and that he was hurt. The sound of his heavy breathing was heard.

"OH MY GOSH! BROTHER!?" Papyrus exclaimed and Sans looked at the ground, a look of annoyance on his face, not at his brother but at the video being played.

"My friend, who did this?" Toriel asked in a concerned voice but Sans didn't reply.

Then it was revealed that the one who was dragging Sans was none other than Gaster who also looked pretty beat up.

"So, he's stronger than you, that explains why your afraid of him," Flowey chuckled.

"Why were you fighting him in the first place?" Chara asked curiously but yet again there was no reply other than a small growl.

Gaster chucked Sans to the ground, Sans not resisting as he looked way to exhausted. Gaster stood on Sans' arm to prevent him from running.

"That looks painful," Undyne commented on the video but no one really knew how to respond to what was on screen.

Papyrus had wrapped an arm around Sans, for multiple reasons put the main one was to comfort himself.

"Why do you resist Sans, it's just a job," Gaster spoke to Sans.

"W-What's he talking about?" Alphys asked, no response.

"just a job, huh? then why don't you do it yourself?" Sans replied back casually, as if he wasn't hurt.

"Wait- How old are you in this? This Gaster was gone without a trace when you were only fifteen, probably younger, but you look so much older in this!?" Flowey stated and everyone agreed but there was no response.

"I'm getting old, Sans, two jobs are too much, even for me," Gaster replied back.

"liar." Sans retorted, "it's because you're tired of sitting their and watching, tired of being excluded."

"because you want your name to be remembered through history."

"That worked out so well," Chara sarcastically said.

"i know you gaster."

"Proof you know him well, gonna say anything yet Smiley?" Flowey asked but Sans stayed quite.

"you care about your name more than anything, that's why your so obsessed with your current project."

"❍︎□︎❒︎♏︎ ♋︎♌︎□︎◆︎⧫︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎❒︎ ◻︎❒︎□︎🙰♏︎♍︎⧫︎⬧︎ ⧫︎♒︎♋︎■︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎❒︎ □︎⬥︎■︎ ♑︎□︎♎︎ ♎︎♋︎❍︎■︎ ⬧︎□︎■︎⬧︎📬︎📬︎📬︎" Sans muttered and everyone looked at him confused except for Papyrus who held onto him tighter.

"✋︎❄︎🕯︎💧︎ ✌︎☹︎☼︎✋︎☝︎☟︎❄︎ 👌︎☼︎⚐︎❄︎☟︎☜︎☼︎📪︎ ☟︎☜︎🕯︎💧︎ ☝︎⚐︎☠︎☜︎," Papyrus replied which Sans sighed at.

"♐︎□︎❒︎ ♒︎□︎⬥︎ ●︎□︎■︎♑︎ ⧫︎♒︎□︎◆︎♑︎♒︎✍︎," Sans asked and Papyrus just looked at the screen, unsure of a response.

"Ok, what the FUNK!?" Flowey exclaimed but neither of the brothers replied.

"See Sans!? You're perfect for this job!" Gaster replied back with a smile. "It's not so bad to be the judge."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, THIS is how you became judge?" Undyne asked.

"If you choose to you can always interfere and-" Gaster was cut off.

"at what cost," Sans replied.

Silence.

Gaster stared down at Sans before speaking again. "It's time."

"I hereby  succeed Sans to the position of the Royal Judge." Then the screen turned off singling the end of the video.

There was silence for a while until Asgore responded.

"This doesn't make any sense," Asgore put his head in his hands.

"What do you mean?" Toriel asked as she stared at him.

"The paperwork I found said that Sans was the judge but I had no memory of ever, or anyone, ever making him judge. Yet when I found him, he was fifteen, looked so much younger than he did in the video, and he proved that he was a good judge, resulting in me giving him the job. This video doesn't make sense. The paperwork that I found never made sense. NONE of this makes sense!" Asgore said, frustrated. 

"So, you gonna explain Comedian?" Chara asked.

"time reversed at some point, and that was when g was erased," Sans replied through gritted teeth.

"How?" Chara asked, eyes narrowing.

"next video," Sans responded and the room went dark and the screen lit up.
