"Mom, Dad. I'm..." I let slip past my lips before my eyes fill with tears and I take a deep breath.
"What are you honey?" My dad asks and I look up from my lap while biting my lip.

"I'm gay." I let it out and start crying uncontrollably. Jasmine came and wrapped her arm around my shoulder as I cried into my hands. My parents were silent the whole time and when I looked at them their faces showed very different emotions. My mom looked angry and my dad looked confused and a little hurt.

"What do you mean you're gay?! You can't be gay!" My mom screamed and I flinched. "I'm sorry mom but I like girls." I said and she raised her hand before slapping me hard. My face stung and more tears fell from my eyes. I held my cheek and looked at my mother shocked.

"No daughter of mine will be a lesbian. Choose Luna. Be a lesbian and leave this family, or sort out whatever you think you are." My mom said while glaring at me.

"Mom, I can't change who I am. I've been this way my whole life, now I'm just open about it. I'm still the same Luna." I said and she shook her head.

"You are not the same Luna. You're a freak. You need to choose." She said and I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Give me some time mom." I said before standing off the couch and leaving. I shoved my boots onto my feet and walked quietly out of the house.

I got in my car and sat there for a little while staring at the house that I used to call home. "I'll fix myself mom. I'll make you proud." I said mostly to myself before putting my keys in the ignition and driving back to my apartment.

I'm going to make myself straight no matter what I have to do.
