Javier slowly opened his eyes, glancing at the empty space next to him. He felt empty and all the happiness that he had felt hours prior had been drained out of him, and his hands went cold. He turned onto his back and stared at the ceiling blank, with tired eyes. He traced the edges of the room with his fingers in the air, focusing on the corners. He didn't know why he did this, but the way his fingers glided along with the air as his hand was weighed down by his muscle made a weird feeling tingle throughout his arm.

Why was she so kind to him. So willing to ask if he was okay, even though its basic human decency that he had never felt before.

Was this the reason why he suddenly wanted to be near her? Even if it was just as a friend.

He slowly fell back to sleep with his hands draped over his own chest, giving himself a hug.

"I can't do this anymore. Why did you choose me? Why not him? I'm too young. Please stop"

 "Listen to me-."

"Please. Please, don't do that. I don't like it. Please."

"Stay quiet. You're annoying when you talk."

Verona woke up to the sound of her phone blaring her alarm. She got up and turned it off, softly stretching as she stumbled across the room, grabbing her travel bag, and downstairs to go brush her teeth. As she trudged down the stairs to walk into the bathroom, she was met with the realization that she didn't know where she was headed, since this wasn't even her own home.

She trudged back upstairs and opened three doors that weren't even bathrooms. "Dude, what the fuck.", she mumbled under her breath. She tried one more door, but this was Miguel's bedroom. Miguel's eyes shot wide open as he made eye contact with Verona, sitting on the bed, but then slowly eased when he realized it was her.

"Hey! I'm so sorry, Miguel. I'm just having a tough time figuring out where the bathrooms are, you know.", she softly spoke as she studied his room. "Your room looks really cool. Mind if I just check it out?", she flashed her beaming smile. She was using this room as an excuse to maybe get to know him better.

His room was like a blank slate compared to Javier's room. There were two posters on the wall (one about anatomy and the other was about the solar system), the hanging solar system in the corner of his room, a large and clean desk, a rug, a bed, a closet, and lastly some trophies.

His walls were a light hue of grey, and blackout curtains that cover a gorgeous bay window.

He nodded his head and let out a soft huff of air. Almost like a grunt.

She was startled by the sound of his response, expecting him to talk instead.

"O-oh. Sure. Thank you." She walked into the room and gazed at the hanging solar system model. She counted all the planets and observed their color, which was very vibrant and detailed, with craters and dents to make the planets look more real. She softly ran her hand down the side of Jupiter, admiring its hues in contrast.

He sat on the bed and stared straight ahead at the wall, thinking of ways to disappear. He shouldn't have let her into his room. He was trapped in here with her.
