What's moon water?
Moon water can be used in a multitude of spells and rituals. It's very magical and purifying - think of it as pagan holy water. It's often used in cleansing! It's any water that has absorbed the energy of the moon. Placing moon water out under an eclipse, meteor shower, and certain full moons will also give it a special kick.
Do phases of the moon affect my moon water?
It can! Here's a list of what certain phases will do to your moon water:New Moon: fresh starts, setting intentions, and cleansing
Waxing Moon: growth, planning, and taking action
Full Moon: power, success, goals, and charging items (the most commonly used and widely known moon phase to use!)
Waning Moon: releasing, letting go, and banishingHow do I make moon water?
Moon water is one of the easiest things to make in your practice, and it's a go to for baby and closeted witches since it's so discreet and easy to use. Here's a step-by-step guide to making your own moon water.1. Fill a glass container (no plastic, so no water bottles or plastic cups) with water. Go Slow and focus on what you're doing.
2. Meditate with your water. Think about your intentions, or if you're just making moon water to use for any ritual, just fill it with kind, good intentions.
3. Optional: write your intentions (if any) on a piece of paper and place it under your container. the same can be done with sigils!
4. Once you're finished, leave your moon water out in the moonlight overnight. Be sure to thank the moon for her kindness before you leave! Collect your water the next morning before the sun rises!Bonus: putting clear quartz into your moon water while it's charging will give it an extra magical boost.
