Ezee POV

Ashley's party was about two weeks ago. Things have been going pretty well. Monica and I have been on great terms with one another. She has been very affectionate and acting like a real girlfriend though we are not officially together. We only hang around people we know but she's making an effort so I can only be grateful for that. I know it won't be like this forever. We will be older and out of this city one day, openly together.

I sat watching TV in the living room while listening to my grandmother in the kitchen clanking pots together and closing cabinets. Today was a chill Sunday for me I didn't have training or practice. The plan was to relax and do absolutely nothing. I'd been in and out of sleep all morning while watching reruns on cartoon network.

"Ezee go ahead down to the store for me and pick up everything on this list I need", My grandmother entered the living room with a folded paper in her hand.

I didn't budge on that couch. Just took the paper and put it on my lap. I didn't feel like going anywhere right now. I'm sore from workouts and summer tournaments all week.

"You mean to go right now or like in a little while?"

No verbal answer was given. Just a look that only grandmothers know how to give when they are serious. I didn't dare smack my lips when I got off the couch to change my shirt and grab some shoes.

After I'd gotten myself together, I walked into the kitchen, seeing my grandmother sit at the rounded table with the floral tablecloth.

"Anything else before I go, granny?"

"No", she replied with hesitation.

"Granny I don't want to go twice. Please just be sure", I shot her a toothy smile.

"You know what. Let me just look". She scooted her chair back and started to explore the kitchen while I waited, leaned up against the kitchen counter.

The doorbell rang then was soon followed by a knock.

"I heard my dad walk to open it"

"Hey, Papa Williams", an all too familiar voice greeted my father. "Hey granny", the voice spoke to my grandmother as well.

"Monica. What you doin' here?"

"Really E. I know you ain't forgot. We supposed to be going to the mall today for some new kicks".

I indeed did forget.

"Seriously is it mush in that brain of yours", she walked past me further into the kitchen and tapped on my head causing me to smack my lips.

"So what I did forget whatever"

"Well let's go. My granny already said I can use the car"

"Well, first I gotta go to the store for my granny first and bring her stuff back and change. Then we can go"

"Mhmm", my granny inserted.

"Nah get dressed now"

"You right. iight be right back"

Monica POV

I and Ezee made it to the mall about an hour and a half later. We'd already had a few bags from Forever 21 and Cotton On.

"Ooooo let's go in here", Ezee pulled me by my hand into the nearby shoe store.

"Welcome to FootLocker", the striped shirt employee greeted. We nodded and smile while walking past her and exploring the store.

"Damn these LeBron's are tough. I should get these huh?", Ezee waved the shoes in front of my face while

"Yea. but ima get these KD's. they look way better", I rebottled.
